  1. Thanks for the reply and info Been doing a fair bit of research on them and the later dr based freewind motor's. Now i gotta find one
  2. Looking at running a big Dr thumper motor in different chassis etc. Anyone in the know as to 650/750/800 dr range share the same crank cases?? All seem to look the same specs in pics ??
  3. Managed to slip a thunderace 48mm Rwu front end in with some bearing and stem mods. Had the full rebuilt front end sat around so made use of it plus had a Marvic Penta front suited along with pvm discs.. just calipers to sort and that's the front done.. onto the back next
  4. Thanks mr Bean. Will have a search around for the top bearing etc.
  5. Looking to go the Rwu fork route on 750L project . anyone fitted srad / 600 k1-3 yokes ?? Before I purchase some to try. cheers
  6. Cracking bikes the tl's had a s with the r motor fitted...a couple of r's and allways regret selling em...one day i would love to get another

  8. Cracking bike that I'm depressed now as been on the search for a fair while for one of them eagle Mach 7 / cobra Rs mk1 systems !!! Great write up/info
  9. Superb... diggin the 80's/90's dayglo theme TOP MARKS
  10. Good shout thanks yep scotch and bullets/spades bloody everywhere
  11. Am in dire need of a 87 slab 750 loom due to previous owners attempts to run koso dash and just general bad bodges for a streetfighter attempt.. Want to run it all back to stock incl bodywork etc. Question is... Are all oil cooled "main" looms compatible or do i require early 85-87 specific ?
  12. If you find a braced arm just use your wp bottom link knuckle and seperate dogbones to suit...you dont need the whole wr/ws dogs/bottom link to fit it in just chuck away the stock wn/wp dogbone link
  13. Ebc hh pads are more than spot on for road and track... failing that bendix or if your feeling flush my faves are performance friction but for track only!!!
  14. All tl's give off a light ticking noise..thats std on them and i would worry if it didn't.. Very hard to give a diagnosis without being able to hear it but they are prone to having clutch and starter bearing failure if sat more than used..as are most big twins. God i miss my old tlr..the only bike i do deep down regret selling..cracking bikes.
  15. They dont with the factory stage 3's and you need to use stock tubes so i have been told.. Only the dynojet stage 1 comes with the modified tubes due to the dj 3 step needles design which offcourse dont work with stock tubes/needle's Busy day taking it all out planned then
  16. I'm in the process of taking out the stage 1 dynojet kit on my carbs ie / stepped needles / main jets / pilots / dj emulsion tubes etc as going to go down the factory stage 3 route. yes no doubt going to be a pain to set up but will keep me and the dyno man busy.. I need to run the stock suzuki emulsion tubes and just curious if anyone has the part numbers to hand or parts fische link etc Cheers
  17. Sounds like a pilot or air leak issue for sure. Going up 15 on each of the mains is bit to much for just a stubby end can. i would try starting with 105's and mixtures to 1 3/4. As gixer1460 suggests check them inlet rubbers but also whip the tops off and check the rubber diaphragms are seated proper along with no cracks/pinholes.. While your at it check fuel tap/vac etc...would still recommend checking them pilots again and size to see if stock etc.
  18. LOL Fitted it in today and noticed that zx6r g1 g2 j1 j2 std alloy dogbones slip straight on and give it 40mm lift.. (185-186 centres) Will play with it on std dogs for now then try it at +25/30/40 when all finished as wheelbase change needs to be tested plus i run 180/60's. Looks much nicer .. Dead easy swap aye
  19. Nice seat unit that I may well just order one in the next few weeks and bite the bullet
  20. I'm sure the bmw rate is 8.5kg std?. k6-k7 750's are 9.5kg work well k7-k8 1000 10.1 kg work well fast road/track Not sure 100% on the srad shocks but they are in the low 7kg range and renowned for being a bit on the too softy softy side...Also too long on stock knuckle etc Also varies on what bottom link/dogs etc your running but you should find a big improvement on any of the k6/k7 750 / k7 k8 1000 shocks
