No worries. What make is the chain?
-
Was going mention clutch switch but ya beat me to it. But then it wouldnt start if intermittent either, so could be that. Hmmmm. Hate them safety switches.
-
Air cooled clutch? Someone has shum dollar spare. Wonder what the spec on that engine is hmmmm. Nice.

That is the baffle.
or sound reducing material. Pipe cant be alloy unless some found a way of welding alloy to stainless?
Who ever made it done a nice job.

I removed my side stand circuit . Pain in the but. If you trace the wire from the side stand up you should come across a two pin plug and socket. Disconnect and short the plug onthe loom side. If it still dont fire maybe a bad earth .

First off i would check that chain. Is it brand new? If so send it back or if used adjust your chain at the tightest spot and allow 25mm up/ down movement intotal. Then check yer hub but really the hub should be tight to the wheel.

Easy swap if ya do fancy trying.
Castle nuts. Dont ya just love them .
I just got a set of eblag for an srad. Ya should get three diff sizes for about 15-20 pounds. Make sure they're made in england tho not china.
Mates just turned up in workshop with this so not going to touch any machinery tonight!

It's so amazing. I know i am very naughty but i did set out to thrash this engine and abuse it but it just would not die.
The more i thrashed it the better it went!
Just absolutely gobmacked! I could not break her.
Next pic.
Now bearing in mind (no pun intended) these needle rollers are two millimeters in dia. Quite good me thinks.
Next pic is of the clutch bearing.
I am so impressed with the quality of modern day production engines. Well, i say modern 24 years ago modern!

If ya got it sorted i would leave it alone.
I do love that banana arm but it just the flexibility of it makes it a bit lively at the back so i thought I'd try the braced one for feel. It does look lush, eh.
What have ya done with your set up?

When i stripped my engine down after head gasket failed, i was curious to see how much wear on components were like.
And i was shocked that most were still serviceable after years of abuse (by me).
I purchased this engine with 21000 miles on it according to the breakers yard i got it from. Anyways, assuming this milage were right i clocked another 100,000 on top with oil and filter changes every 3000 miles. anyways, after stripping down i found it had 0.5 oversize pistons! still on inspecting the clutch release bearing, the only one with pitting.

Question to the technical bods.
Wot power gains would be expected vs cost and how much would i pay do have it done. All gain worth having but..
Has anyone done this and have dyno read outs. Cheers.

On a drag bike i doubt that will be a problem!
Thanks for offer on ZX6R front end, but might as well stick with the SRAD forks rather than spend more money.
Soz. Me bad. Thought it were for tracks with corners. Oops.
Me gotta build a drag bike one day. You guys are awesome!

Lighter wheel in front will help. Less input and less sweating to hit apex. It will feel like a 250 on the steering.
Oh and wheelies come easier. Must be a good thing.

Seems odd that chain has tight spots being new.?
