doing fine! oooooohhhhhhhh!! wished suzuki made that bike instead of what they produced! that bracing at the head stock! O.M.G!!! Had suzuki made that chassis instead. What a wonderful world it would be,eh. Do you know Domonic or ever work for them? i know he shouts alot but thats the passion oozing out of him..

TOP MAN!! Now pulling bed cover over my head.....

Big thank you @markfoggy.
I was hoping you would shed some of your knowledge on this. Brill. Thank you. That frame just looks sooo lush. Any chance you might know of any? Just for a look see more than anything.
Does Sert have a display of any kind of past bikes or do they keep them hidden?
It's really strange endurance racing doesn't get the recognition it deserves. That really annoys me.
That banana arm. F##k its heavy! So glad i swapped it for the braced one. Tho I've not as yet tried it out as yet as only recently fitted.

No. Worries. Just wondered cause I'm nosey. And curious.

so - are the crankshafts interchangable between 750&1100 cases ?
Yep! It seems so. Just make sure you match up your main bearing shells. Just waiting on comformation from mrgreen98ski.

The engine are brill! Just the bloody weight let them down. I haven't weighed mine lately but crossing fingers it should be about 200kg fully fueled by now. Two years ago it were down to 215kg fueled up. So hoping..
Anyways, that sert bike. Oooooh. Yum yum.

Yosh/Sert fabricated new upper rails for them to stiffen things up I believe.
I assume, being that you had the glass headlight setup, that you've got a WN/WP without the braces between the head and the frame spars? the WS/WR had the braces, thinner wall frame sections, the lighter, stiffer braced arm & bigger swinger pivot, and plastic headlight setup to drop the weight. Still had pig iron wheels though.
yes haha pig iron wheels!!!haha wn model or it was before i tickered! headlight glass must weight half the bike weight!if you look on arm of chair. thats the mark 1 plastic cover i made to replace it.
I'm now in the process of writing up article for oss project. got the braced arm in..

Oh and offset still same as ive still not ordered a top bearing from marksman. So k1 yokes might help but think same offset.

Cheers for info. Saves trawling through the bull off interweb.
The first thing i did when i got the bike were to lift back end up. Very bad understeer and the old tyres probs didnt help but kept tyres on while lifting rear till the understeer stopped. Then fitted race tecs and found that it argued with the process of turning and thats when i started striping the weight off the front. Its so much better but...
Oh and yes the do have a hinge in the frame when you up the pace but only thro lefty righty type turns!
. Havent reach the hyperspeeds of bsb.... yet. Haha

Hi dupersunc, front end is k1 1000 that alone shaved 5kilos. Ha ha yes very heavy wheels as standard. I've removed the greenhouse from the front headlights too and replaced with plastic. So bracing wouldn't help turn in?
-
Yes, it is a sert bike. Just wondered if anyone new about the frame bracing.
Looks like they made a whole new top section and heavily braced it.
Wondering how much better it turned into corners. These models are quite a pig to turn into the corner as standard as they're top heavy, once you've persuaded them to turn , then stable as you could want. I've succeed in making the process much easier by shedding tonnes of weight off the front (I'll explain in my write up of what ive done when internet lets me!) but still needs a good push on bars. Were hoping the bracing helped even more.

Is there any write ups on this conversion in the OSS archives, or is it a 'Google it!' job? Really keen to look into this as long as my engine has survived Redruth's finest flood/ gutter water
. Alternatively would it be easier to buy a second hand RF900 engine and stick it in the frame, with 750 carbs? or is that a whole different kettle of ball games?
Quite a straight forward swap. Swap complete 750 head, cams, etc onto rf900 (plz use rf900 gaskets.) Use the 750 carbs with bigger jets. If using 750 airbox then mains about 122, needle jet on third ring from top. Pilot jet standard. If using twin socks or twin pods start about 135 mains. Nice set of cams, good flowing end can you should see 145+ bhp. i cant wait to try my track bike out( when built) as it should be near these figures. Of course after one has had shum dyno time.

That looks like a proper read!

So what combo did you run ?
750 runs 18mm piston pin
1100 runs 20mm piston pin.
1100 crank rods and pistons with the 1100 gearbox and clutch. Just swap everything over to 750 cases.

on a 900/750 what all is used. the whole rf900 but the head?
If you use the rf900 engine then its just means using the 750 head on the 900. But do use rf900 head and base gaskets.
-
Cool. So mains are the same thro the range. Brill. Thought bluedog59 were refering to mains!. I new the big end were different on the 900/1100. So still a go on swaping internals from 1100 to 750 casings. Yay!
-
Cheapest option would to source another barrel and matching pistons for 750. Use that till you can source 1100 casings. Or have 1100 casings welded?
-
Thats what i wanted to know. Bugger! New crankcases then. Grrrr. 4mm too big. Maybe bore 750 case out to 1100 size but i expect be much cheaper to get second hand 1100 cases?
-
How bad are the 1100 cases? I see you have three that match. Good start. Pastigauge will be your best friend.
-
Yes thats the one. If you look in your 1100 manual it will tell you the dia of the crank shaft main bearing. Hopefully they'll be the same size.

Brrrrrrrŕrrrr. Hate the cold! Starting to turn cold over here in England now. I'm from the sunshine state. I so miss that big yellow thing in the sky.
