  1. The codes on the crankshaft refer to the outer diameter of the journal of the main bearing on the crank and the code

on the casing refers to the inner diameter of the casing. You will need the workshop manual to match up the bearing shells. When you have strip the engine we can talk thro it then.(y)

Funny you talk about swaping gears on the clutch. I'm hoping to do the same too. Tho I'm building up a 750/ 900. Me no money at mo so you'll get there before me!

  2. I do believe so as the 600 750 900 1100 share casings design tho the 1100 /900 have hydro clutch and 5 speed box. The sticking point will be bearing shells for the 1100. If they're 34mm mains you should be able to match up a set. It's all trial and errors. You will need some plastigauge to check your clearance. Not a quick swap unless all your codes match. Bearing shells are not cheap. May be better off getting another engine.  But i like a challenge. But I'm mad and crazy!(Someone has to be!) Where abouts are you?

  3. Hello mrgreen98ski and welcome.

You can use the casings but you'll need to check the bearing code to see if they match.

Think you'll need the 1100 clutch as well to match crank gear. Use the gearbox from the 1100 too. Should be good to go. Someone will be along shortly if I'm  mistaken or missed something.

Ha ha, that's cool, it just gives me more to think about! Like the idea of the RF conversion, but \i'm a bit confused? If you are just swaping RF barrels/ pistons and head onto 750 bottom end surely the clutch would still be cable ? If I'm missing something out do tell, because this is all new to me :$:$

Haha. Yeah, see where can miss it. The rf900 crank gear and clutch gear are diff size  to the 750.  And clutch basket is much deeper on the 900 so you lose the cable mechanism from 750 casing as you need the 900 casing. There is a way of using a spacer between the crankcase and the clutch case so you can use the cable but I've been told it won't last long so didnt bother.  Unless of some knows better. (Plz)
