crainer Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Hi. Putting a b12 motor in my 750 slabby frame. Just wondering if I can use the pick up out off the 750 motor and use in the 1200 so I can still use the cdi unit?? Tia Quote
vizman Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 I think the 750 rev limiter is a lot higher than the b12 one, miss a gear and it might go into shitsville 1 Quote
Ben Slabby Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Yeah. Its do-able, but as Viz said, miss a gear and it could get messy. Quote
crainer Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 Ah okay. Could a 1200 cdi be adapted to the 750 loom?? Quote
vizman Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 yup, but you'll need the b12ignition or a resistor for the 12cdi to work. Quote
Ben Slabby Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Got a wiring diagram somewhere, I'll fish it out when I get home. 1 Quote
Captain Chaos Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 slabby has two pick-ups (at the crankshaft), B12 has one. Only a slabby CDI will work with the slabby pick-ups/loom. Quote
crainer Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 Oh dear. Think I will get the b12 cdi/pick ups. Cheers Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Its soo much easier to fit an entire bandit loom switches and all the bits , so that everything just plugs in, if you start cutting and rewiring the cdi wiring it will probably introduce faults where you don't need them, when I did my Harris I got late model (Mark 2) bandit loom cdi ignition handlebar switches alternator and pickups, and leccy clocks as well, depends if you want the slabby clocks I suppose... It all plugs together and just works. Quote
kokolis Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 use the b12 pick-ups/cdi/ignitionyou have to change the sockets aswell Quote
