So I've begun the refresh of my 89 1100. It's sitting stripped, I'm taking forks to local suspension guy for internal upgrades, and some advice on replaceing stock rear shock.

Ive ordered an akrapovic full race system and a set of pilot powers.

I am planning on rebuilding calipers, and am gonna go with steel braided lines...but what are the best modern pads to go with for serious braking?

Any other advice in regards to brake upgrades would be great!

cheers

Carbone Lorraine pads are great but I think they are not made anymore. Maybe NOS ones about though. SBS are good as are Ferodo. I always avoid anything  EBC since I nearly ran into the back of a car the first time it rained after I fitted them to a ZZR1100 I had many moons ago. They may have improved since then though.

Ebc hh pads are more than spot on for road and track...

failing that bendix or if your feeling flush my faves are performance friction but for track only!!!

Well serviced Nissin calipers, a set of hoses and EBC HH pads work really well for me too - feel really strong now,  the master cylinder has been over - hauled too - the EBC HH pads made the most of the other work when I fitted them.

Michelin Pilot Power tyres work really well on my bike btw .
