Gixer1460
Looks a super strong block but the cooling looks much reduced compared to the fully wet liner stock block - discuss? Quote Link to comment

I agree. Cooling worse than the standard. Especially outside cylinders. I think that can be do about it ... While few ideas. Motorcycle for drag racing. Quote Link to comment

I'm aware that a lot of the top level racers in the US are using 'dry blocks' - saves a good amount of surplus weight and 30 seconds of total run time is not an issue for cooling. Pasis
Perhaps they used methanol ... It can also help. I have an idea to improve the cooling, but I think I need the test. Quote Link to comment

Gixer1460
Not a bad price @ £500 considering there's a set of pistons in bored to suit barrel's - not sure I'd go as far as £750 though! Quote Link to comment
wombat258
No cooling passages in that EB block - drag race only. Quote Link to comment
Pasis
Price good! But no cooling, and this block- offset most likely. And the CR, I think 13.5-14. It's will be very hot! Quote Link to comment
kja.busa
Yep race only, shame really. Quote Link to comment
Steve1571
Pasis I would be interested in one of your big blocks but my motor is dry blocked I drag race my bike so I filled y water passages in my cylinders and head I would like a so if block with no water passages at all I'm wanting to use some busa pistons if possible I know I can only get 79.5 mm over I'm wanting to about 81 if possible instead of using wet sleeves could use a regular sleeve that is not as thick as the wet sleeves and that's gonna allow for up to a 81 mm piston I have researched it I think it will work I haven't been able to find anyone to make me a big block would like to get one of yours so if and even no sleeves if possible 1 Quote Link to comment

I think we can make another block, without channels for cooling. It should be cheaper and faster than in my case. If necessary, I can check with my master when he can make another block. wombat258
I am looking at making a water cooled 1100W billet big block to take 83mm Gen 1 Hayabusa pistons. Waiting for my machinist to price it up for me. I am using my current Super Bike Mike block as a guide. Need new one for the spare engine, and the SBM one is due for resleeving. Quote Link to comment
Gixer1460
83mm Gen 1 Hayabusa pistons? Aftermarket? as Gen 1 Busa pistons are 81mm! Couldn't you bore std barrels to take steel liners? Quote Link to comment
wombat258
Never stated they were stock pistons. Cannot bore water cooled barrels past 79.5mm, and even then it is near impossible to keep head gaskets sealed. Need to offset bores 1.5mm, and open deck design does not allow for that. And before you chime in, I have run offset bores in circuit race applications with no Carrillo conrod or bearing problems. Quote Link to comment
