Screwriverracing Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Looks good, how is the oil returned from the turbo, gravity or pumped? Cheers SRR Quote
Bigkenxx Posted March 12, 2016 Author Posted March 12, 2016 Gravity ,turbo is placed higher than the sump , header was made with forks in full compression so no tyre touching and bearing is fed with a restricted oil line. 2 Quote
Bigkenxx Posted March 13, 2016 Author Posted March 13, 2016 Just to add swingarm is going to be changed possibly and the efe headlight refitted used the one on it till original was powder coated. Nearly done then on to the other suzukis Quote
Bigkenxx Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 Thank you it was done on a budget didn't cost a lot to do. Quote
Bigkenxx Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 Trick is to plan ahead I bought my parts over a year hoses clamps wastegate , fuel pump/ reg blow off valve etc it spreads the cost Quote
Bandit31 Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Great looking bike. If you don't mind me asking how much does it cost to go Turbo? Say with a standard Bandit 12 lump? Quote
Bigkenxx Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 cheers fella , to be honest I don't really know I think dave ( duckanddive) is your man, the Gsx air cooled lump was different altogether than the bandit , I do know my mate bought a kit of eblag for a grand but then he had to bore to 81 mm and buy some busa 1st gen Pistons and job done with some extra parts like af meter and boost gauge . Mine was a one off fabrication with great thanks to my mate who is a demon with a tig welder and me doing the engine. 2 Quote
vizman Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 duckanddive can boost the titties off bikes.....but he's not called dave. 3 Quote

It all depends how far you want to go how much boost but a grand will get you a set up I don't know how much people would charge as me and my mate have done it all garage and shed engineering. Quote
vizman Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 depends on what you can fabricate yourself.....what bits you can source etc.... ...or ride in ride out for under 3k. 1 Quote

Bigkenxx Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 Well it went the dyno and a old problem re appeared number 4 carb float sticking it's my own fault I have got a full set of repair kits and due to time and having a new born didn't fit them so it ran on 3 cylinders was bloody fine on a test run last week but that's Sod's law but did a respectable bhp on 3 , the operator loved it says it's a very strong engine pulls hard the lock up clutch works perfectly just made me realise I need a new chain ! Spark plugs as a preventive measure also restrict the turbo oil line a little bit more but the good thing with a dyno you can see up close what is happening under load without peering at your engine with your helmet on or doing what I used to racing 2 strokes going up and down the road with spanners and jets doing plug chops. 2 Quote
Guest Manxzookie Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Very nice ken love it Can't wait to see the kat build I've also found some pukka crescent racing rearsets in my treasure trove for it Quote
