MadFred Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Hi! My name is Fredrik and I live in Sweden, I just got my hands on a 750ef -85.. And I have an Idea of swaping in a 750gsx-r engine in it, a -91 Whould be great most punch! But it might be hard to find.. Is it very big differens in sizes of the engines? Will it fit , whats needed.. Best regards! Fredrik Quote
Rene EFE Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Yes, it will most definitely fit. Physically slightly smaller and quite a bit narower. Tabs made up on the rear bottom mount and the rest is just measuring and cutting mountingplates. All you need is the engine, loom and a welder really 1 Quote
Peterrr Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Oil cooled engine will fit for sure, working on the same modification myself. 1 Quote
MadFred Posted January 27, 2016 Author Posted January 27, 2016 I need advice guys.. My top projekt is stalling both by money and time (the Harley Street/strip) I´m going to start dragrace to the spring, and I dont think the HD will be raceready untill late summer for the best.. So I look at my GS750EF -85 I know its not much to race with, but thats what i got for the moment (Me in school and two babys). The orginal slip tells me 12.0 sec 1/4 mile (by the producer) seems optimistic, but I would like to do under that.. Is there any possible way with a small budget? (I have big plans for this bike, just not now) For now its stock with the 32mm Mikuni and so on.. (and n2o is not legal on the tracks in sweden) ... Thanks for helping me! Quote
MadFred Posted January 27, 2016 Author Posted January 27, 2016 Is it any help at all to upgrade to bigger carbs? does the 1100gsx carbs fit? Quote
Captain Chaos Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 instead of trying to make the aircooled lump perform better, it would be cheaper to just get an oilcooled engine and fit that. You say they are hard to find in Sweden so try looking abroad, Finland for example. 1 Quote
Peterrr Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Oil cooled 750F is not hard to find in Holland, and also has a dothead like the 750R 1 Quote
MadFred Posted January 28, 2016 Author Posted January 28, 2016 What about to fit an watercold 750 -92 ? Quote
MadFred Posted January 28, 2016 Author Posted January 28, 2016 Sure would need an advice here, might have one coming.. Quote
MadFred Posted January 28, 2016 Author Posted January 28, 2016 Some pics from todays work with the carbs, they need some overlooking.. Quote
Peterrr Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Watercooled 750?.. don't know. In my opinion you can make everything fit, but I don't think a watercooled 750 is an easy fit Quote
MadFred Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 Understand what you mean but I literally get this engine for fee money including carbs and everything.. So more specifik whats my biggest concern , dont care so much for roadlegal. I got plasmatorch Tig welder , lathe and Mill.. Quote
Captain Chaos Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 the WC engine is smaller than the OC one. Only problem might be the radiator which is quite big. Quote
MadFred Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 The radior, how effective is it, I mean I can use one in another material that have the same or better efficiency and its smaller... Quote
