Am I being dense?

So I’m now looking to change the rear shock out on my slabbie 1100

ive read about doing a swap with an r6 shock that’s relatively straight forward.

having discussing this with a friend of mine who races r6s he replied I have one that’s never seen action as it came off a brand new bike in 2017 to be replaced for a race shock.
struck a deal obtained said shock.

Having now compared this shock to my stock slabbie shock

the bottom mount is completely different and is too short anyway.
the question is.

is there a bracket that needs making to make this work or have I got the wrong shock?

I think some of the earlier r6s have the same bottom mount design as do the slabbies so my guess is you've accidentally bought a shock from the wrong model :(.

You need the pre 2006 r6 rear shock.  You need to narrow the lower eye a few mm to fit.  I've only fitted one to a 750, which works really well.  Not sure how well it works out length wise on an 1100.
