wsn03 Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 My GSXR 750 f has been sat idle for almost a couple of years. Everything good (fuel stabilizer; battery) - indicators not blinking. New relays are 75 quid if oem. Is there a way to fix it? Quote
Simbec1863 Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 If it’s just the relay I got one from wemoto for around a tenner a couple of years ago,I imagine they still sell them Quote
Joseph Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Have you tested the voltage of the system ? Corrosion on the spade terminals, etc Eblag or any Aftermarket bike parts shop will indeed have them cheap, just make sure you get one with the right connector Quote
wsn03 Posted June 30, 2021 Author Posted June 30, 2021 Thanks chaps Connectors are all clean (Vaseline). Everything else is spot on but i haven't checked the relay connectors themselves so I'll try that. Battery is new and spins the motor well. Wemoto is a good shout. I'll keep you posted Quote
Joseph Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 Funny because it's not really something that goes wrong, but maybe. Voltage is getting to all the points in the indicator system ? Quote

wsn03 Posted June 30, 2021 Author Posted June 30, 2021 Ordered a new relay from Wemoto, 13 quid including postage. Connections on existing one are fine. I'll give it a try Quote

Can also do it if the bulb fittings are corroded and have a high resistance. If the new relay doesn't sort it you might want to take the lenses off the indicators and have the bulbs out of the fittings for a looksee. If there is corrosion in there cleaning up with wet and dry and spraying with WD40 should get things going again. 1 Quote
Joseph Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Ah true ! Also just remembered if the earth connections of the bike aren't overall great (not only the indicator ones), it can do that kind of thing 1 Quote
clivegto Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 I got one of the bay of e for £7.99 delivered that works on led or normal bulbs just plug & play. 1 Quote

Im going to give everything a good going over like you suggest while I wait for my new relay I'll post up any updates too 1 Quote

wsn03 Posted July 6, 2021 Author Posted July 6, 2021 Well the answer is not what anyone would expect! New relay worked a treat from wemoto. Then I realised being a complete dunder head the front indicators aren't connected (fairing respray in progress) - soon as I connected old relay worked too! Old relay makes blinking sound, new one doesn't - new relay works with only 2 indicators with same timing 1 Quote
