Inazuma Brake Calipers

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys and Gals, I decided to give the brake calipers a strip down and clean due to bike not being used for a while. I dropped the caliper halves in to a mix of 10% Harpic Plus 10 and hot water. This is a picture of them half done.

With those calipers and that method you should be able to go clean round the bend .....:)

Never tried using bleach , my go to is Jif / ANother white cleaner for first level gunge removal . I might have to give this a go next time .

O the good old days when there where bike breakers you could go and get the parts off instead of them just selling on that site

2 of my mates run the local breakers which is pretty handy, one of the lads has a well equipped garage at home and does some machining and welding for me when i get stuck ;)

That's a great result on those calipers. Harpic Plus is a weak hydrochloric acid solution so it's use here is the same as using alloy wheel cleaner to remove brake dust and other crap from calipers. Harpic is clearly a whole lot cheaper than wheel cleaner so it's a no-brainer to use this method in the future.
