scotgary Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 Anyone with a gsxr1100 front end swap know if the speedometer drive gear ratio will make gs1000/850/750 speedometer accurate? Quote
Gixer1460 Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 Accuracy is likely wrong - GS1000 - 19" wheel, GSXR 17" wheel - approx 20% speedo error! Quote
gs7_11 Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 (edited) Actually.......I have a GSXR (slabby, 18" front wheel) front end, complete with GSXR speedo drive, and it drives my GS550/750 speedo accurately enough....+5mph at 80mph, or about the same as standard. It's more accurate than either of my standard, unmodded GS's! I've checked them against GPS speedos. Give it a go! Edited May 10, 2020 by gs7_11 Quote
Ibbo Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 Mine is 10mph out at 40, its doing 30. 1100k wheel, and speedo drive, and gs1000 clocks. its unusual not to be at least 10% out though. Quote

That's 33.33% out, which is a lot. Fitting a km to miles converter on the cable (are these still available?) would bring things nearer the mark as a km is 0.62 miles, a 38% difference Quote

Got one fitted to my Kat and not seen one new for sale for a long time. The Kat has gsxr1100k wheel and Speedo with standard katana (kph clock with the converter fitted) and reads within 5 mph, never been done by a camera or by cops following me, so can't be to far out or under. 2 Quote
