Blubber Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 First: Welcome to OSS. And now.. in random order: - Have you tried our "search" button? - We like pictures so please start a thread in "projects" for your project to keep them organized at one place. - Have you tried the listings for the aftermarket options? ( motad / delkevic / black widow? - We like a proper intro too, "general" would be the place for that. thank you 1 Quote

Daff1 Posted July 25, 2019 Author Posted July 25, 2019 (edited) I'd like to fit original exhausts but realise they are very hard to find or if not a 4 into 2 system so it will look more like the originals but can't find anyone that makes them Edited July 25, 2019 by Daff1 To add more info Quote
Blubber Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 (edited) According to CMSNL.coml the gs550e "C" 1978 and "T" 1980 have the same partnumers for the left and right headers . The collector / muffler assembly has a small difference in the partnumber: C: 1431047001 T: 1431047010 but because of the fact that the headers matches between the years... the collector mixes and matches. Judging by the pictures only the brackets have a slightly different shape. The after market guys like Marshal, MAC, MAK, Marving, Kerker, and such all do the same system for the GS550 from 1977 till 1980 MAC Part # 003-0211 fits the following: 1977 GS 550 1978 GS 550 1979 GS 550 1980 GS 550 1978 GS 550E 1979 GS 550E 1980 GS 550E 1979 GS 550L 1980 GS 550L there is a original GS550 "T" 1980 set available on Eblag or even here Edited July 26, 2019 by Blubber added info Quote

Daff1 Posted July 28, 2019 Author Posted July 28, 2019 Thanks Blubber I went on your link to the Exhausts in America and have had conversations with the seller who said they are in a very good condition and just needs cleaning up and if we can sort out the shipping he'll send them by the end of the week. ☺ 1 Quote

Poldark Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 Daff, I'm a little late answering your question, you already purchased an exhaust system. I have the same model and year bike with an exhaust system from an early 80's gs550L. It required slight modification. We might have a better availability of used parts here in the US. Quote
