Then something else is wrong. My 15k mile 86 1100 engine was spot on after i installed the guide i forgot. Like exactly mint perfect. Edit: I did find TDC using a indicator while the head was off.

At that point i would look at the notches in the end of the cams. Im no pro, only done the job once. Well twice actually cause i forgot to put a chain guide in, the guide made a huge difference in everything being spot on.

Late to the party but i finally measured one of my 90 1k tanks, it would fall through the frame spars.

Also as a heads up. RGV's require a fresh battery so the power valves work right and i imagine your bike is the same.

They are both made by suzuki and 2 strokes... thats about it. Sean at The Tuning Works should be able to help you out, ive seen rg250 stuff for sale on his website and a few discussions on rgv250.com but rg250's are rarer than rgv's IMO. He did just do a major revamp on the TTW website so dont count on it being updated and correct, hes still working on it.
