    Fuel tap options

I did try that initially, it idles fine, just doesn’t rev out properly. I’ve only had 1-2l in the tank as I keep draining it to swap taps so potentially that’s an/the issue? Just seems odd when it runs so well on a gravity fed aux tank.

Should say I also robbed the tap of my 750wp and had the same issue with fuel starvation. I also tried a bit of reinforced fuel injection line off my Daytona which improved the vacuum, but still not spot on with any of the now four taps.

    Fuel tap options

Eventual plan is fuel injection for ease of use, but the flatsides are tempting and I love the sound. Anyway, that’s the main reason for not wanting to go pingel, that and I can’t see the reason behind cost of the product in, its very simple. I know what you mean, I borrowed one of the aftermarket taps below and besides not having the space for it, there was no way I could change the position.

    Fuel tap options

Makes sense, I think I might make up and adapter plate and single inline tap for now as it runs fine from the auxiliary tank on a single tap. Or I could strip out the gubbins from the oem tap and add an inline tap on each line. Pingle sounds like the long term solution though! Just stupid money for a tap! I can buy an rf900 engine for the price.

So I’ve got no idea on the history of either tap, one is definitely more worn as it flows better when you press on the tap. Think it’s a realistic that they’ve both worn out.

    Fuel tap options

Good to know about the 38s. I’ve had them both apart and they’re both clean and free of obvious damage, though one is looking a little more perished on the diaphragm. The vac line is brand new, aand I even tried the old one. I’ve also double checked the tank breather. Can’t see anything immediately wrong.

    1127 GSX-R 1990 L engine, BST 38 carbs, 155 main jet, Needle in middle grove, Pilot jet 3 turns out, K&N RU-2922, 750 L frame. 1100 tank, un-modified.
  8. Having some fuel starvation issues with my 7/11. Any thoughts on options? I’m unsure if I should rebuild either of my stock fuel taps. They both fit fine, but only one currently flows enough to keep the bike on idle in the prime setting. Bike runs beautifully off an auxiliary tank with just a gravity feed, but it bogs even on prime as it is and the ally casting seems fairly worn on both of my OEM taps. Vac line is fine and free of leaks.

Going through a service on your bike will teach you a lot, but particularly you can focus on breaking tasks down. For example set yourself a task of servicing and - if you feel like it -improving your front brakes. You can start simple and slowly get deeper and those skills will transfer really well to larger tasks. Working on too many sub systems at the same time is what makes working on bikes difficult. Break each section down into its own sub sections.

    Turning circle

Hilarious, love it, at least I won’t be the only one then! So I’ve got a 30mm offset, which I believe is 5mm less than stock. They’re zzr1400 yokes sleeved with a k3 stem pressed in. As@Upshotknotholepoints out the bars are part of the issue, but I reckon the pinch bolt/clamp location is just as much of a problem.

    Turning circle

Just wondering if anyone knows what a turning circle should be on a slingshot? My bikes are all quite modified so I’m not sure what to use as a reference, but my pick n’ gixx turning circle is shocking. Pushing it full lock upright I can turn it round 8.4m. Which is 900mm more space than you get in the mod 1. My issue is that I can’t get much closer without the yokes or the pressure switch fouling the tank. I’ve made a little lock stop that I’ve been filing down, but I’ve only got 12mm clearance at the moment on full lock.
  13. Interesting, didn't know that
  14. Just looking at my logbook on my 7/11 before submitting my v62 form, my original engine size is 748cc which says to me it's a 1989. Wondering if anyone can help with the frame number ID: GR7AA 102205 It's not going to make a huge difference to me, but I'd like to know.
  15. Looking good, interested to see how you get on.
  16. Just something to keep an eye on in terms of wear as it's not a hardened surface.
  17. I’ve always used a quad lock mounted phone as a speedo on my little sv. Will likely chuck it on the gsxr soon.
  18. Nice job! Mill looks pukka too!
  19. I’ve got a badly damaged loom with most of the important connectors. Just came across an rf900 loom for £10 + p&p. Still much cheaper than the cable! Thought I’d do a sanity check before going for it.
  20. As the title says, anyone know if a rf600 or 900 loom would work on a 750wp?
  21. Been mucking about in InDesign trying to work out the colours for a GSX-R 750L, 1100L, and RK. If anyone has any proper colour codes drop a comment. If not hopefully this helps someone. RGB written next to each sample, should get you in the ballpark.
  22. Come on then, where is it now? ...I also quite liked the nickel plating, but not the tank cut out, paint or seat.
  23. You'll also need to sleeve or remake the centre spacer.
  24. Makes perfect sense, the VanVan is an iconic little bike too!
