So i bought what i thought was a complete set & got a load of spares off here (sorry can't remember who) The issue is, the spares appear to be exactly the same as the GSXR750F fische. However, the comp set are slightly different. Firstly the bowls don't have a draw up tube in them (others do) Also on the side of carbs 1&3 there's a plastic arm that appears to rotate with throttle arm & does nothing but sit above a casting boss, the spares have a moving rod that passes from this arm down into the chamber, same as the fische again, Red circle. So what are the complete carbs in pics that are virtually same & sold to me as VM29SS even though they are 29?

Sounds more like a Blandit than a GS!

Read it in an article a while ago. Gotta give it a try as it really is very disconcerting when it happens. If it don't work, then that's another "remedy" fail off the list!
-
And the whole point of taking it apart was to file off the hooks on the arms, that apparently helps with starting & the dreaded "clang" kickback on the starter clutch!

GS1000 with a Non Black frame, You need a slap

I believe they were, lost mine & quite a few others gone west too
-
I think this version may well be mine, i'll go in garage later & check the crank end to confirm
-
Yep knew they looked different. I'll have to hunt around & try find it. Cheers matey

The first pic is an internet one, mine is the one with my fingers. You can see the little round nodule on mine not locating into anything?
-
Yep, just a bag i plonked em in. Perhaps they were in the bag before & i didn't notice! Has yours got the recess?
-
Also the smaller arm by the spring in the diagram pic shows it fitting into a recess, mine doesn't have that. Is that normal too?
-
So when reassembling my ATU i had the body, 2x arms, 2x circlips & 2x O rings. I don't recall the ATU having any but they're in the bag i had when i took it apart? I have fitted one arm with the O ring underneath but it just don't look right? Or is it just me?

In other words, just get a matching front end compilation

Correct & the 1100s are 52/56
-
Spindle won't, yours is mech speedo & that one has a spacer cos of Elec pickup. And just a guess, but i'd stick with the one for bike as the gap between forks is likely to be different due to them having totally different wheels/spacers/spindles

So are 520s now. @gsxr884 on here does good prices

I reckon the only difference is the strength of the spring. Washers as a cure? -
If you are worried, i'm sure there's a Honka dealer fairly close BTW that is a joke
-
Never suggested you were, merely pointing out he's selling a service, & probably can't be bothered to buy soda & a different nozzle

I have 520 on my GS1000, EFE & GSXR1100 drag bike. So far i still have my ankle

@busa ash Just started following this So my observations so far: Bloody good work However i would def change them light brackets for steel as the bent ally will break eventually with vibrations, been there! Also what did you pay for the VM29s & the make of the fizzy bath? Have just acquired a set of VMs myself & wonder if i got a bargain? Oh & any tips, & where did bellmouths come from?

Not exactly an independent opinion there

This is true, there are many firms who do it, cos it's cheaper for them, but that doesn't mean it's right. Even straight logic tells you that. A soluble against a non soluble medium........ Yep my minds made up
