No wonder the slides were a bit stiff!
Anyhoo, many thanks to the contributors on here who helped me to finally figure how to do these now & in the future

After much fuckery i managed to get No3 carb slide apart.
For info you cannot get the slide out without pulling the whole bank apart, but yes you can (barely) separate the cam & slide for needle removal.
And here we have old & new needles, Gen from Robinsons but no idea what were in it?
Now to attempt reassembly & then onto the others

Were yours round or flat slides? Looking at exploded views the rounds are easy to get at, the flatties are not
As i can see it, i can get at one allen bolt, but the other is hidden behind the cam, & zero chance of undoing that!

Right still baffled.
Caps removed & 1 bolt removed from cam.
I can now lift the "Flat" slide up but as you can see in pic i still can't remove it, nor caan i undo the 2 allen bolts at top of slide as 1 is still out of sight behind cam.

Can you send it again, seems the link i have here is for a fairly vague one.
To change needles i have to separate all 4 carbs & do a total strip, which i'm sure isn't necessary?

Well i have to say the link above & the link you gave me are pretty poor when it comes to removing slides.
One kinda just skips past it altogether other than a full carb seperation & the other is for roundslides, which may not be the same process!
If i had ot guess, i'd say undo the allen bolt in top of cam, rotate throttle & hold slide up, then unhook pin from cam to slide & pull it out?
But tbh it sounds too simple & i know there'll be summat fiddly i'll lose!

On the VM flatties i have. Never gone in to detail about how such internal parts are removed.
Top covers removed, and.......
Any tips?

Robinsons for parts, the gasket you're after is not a part that's sold.
I got my GF to make some for me. Can send you 4 for the cost of paper & post?
As for boring out plates, @Gsxrsam is your man as he's done 2 sets of mine & others too

I know this is basic stuff but often we all get sidetracked away and things are hiding in plain view.
All the bolts are correct length. Only 1 bolt has the dowty washer on & that goes to the RH rear hole which i have checked. The central bolt does not have one, but i have decided to put copper washers on every one of the bolts. I also renewed to AN outlet Dowtys at the front too, & i annealed the sump washer before reusing it.
I also checked the sump on glass & it does have a very tiny warp on. I'm hoping the cleaned surfaces, gasket & red Hylomar with a solid tightening sequence will cure it. If not, i'll be looking for another one.

No choice there, the Blandit one is sat at an angle to take into account of the well. An F one & GSXRs are all straight

Put a Bandit side well sump on a GSX1100F lump with a new gasket. No sealant, just straight on & bolted up diagonally not following the bolts round.
The bike has run twice for about 5 mins each time but never moved, & there's oil all around the whole circumference of the sump join.
At first i thought it could be the cooler pipes at front, but the fact the oil is pretty much everywhere i'm just wondering?
Anybody had one that warped before?

Looked & there are plenty of choices for a good price. Shame the adapter plates alone are at least double the tap price!
