DJ got back to me. You can buy needle jets, they’ll only sell needles if you send back your worn ones. Apparently they’re Ti? That’s news to me, and gonna pull mine and see if they’re worn or actually Ti.

As soon as I get off my ass and prep a spare 1127 for this bike, I doubt I’ll be ever be running stock BST38s again. I was mainly curious if people were seeing the same thing as far as availability in the rest of the world, and it appears that way.
The L was always the best of the long stroke slingshots, with the M being a fat pig and the N being identical other than getting the best paint job, but only being released to us in the states. I can understand why Suzuki wouldn’t keep manufacturing parts for the M and the N at this point.

So this is what I mean. There are plenty of online shops that still list them, but if they don’t have any currently in stock, I don’t think you can get them anymore. Suzuki appears to have discontinued them. So going forwards, if you have a 90/91/92(US) 750, you have a choice of Dynojet kits, or RS/FCR/TMR carbs, because the needle jets are a consumable that wears out. I even emailed dynojet last week about buying replacement needle jets and needles from them, but they haven’t gotten back to me.

Looks like they have almost everything except the needle jets.

For the right price it still doesn’t sound that bad. Of course most of us probably have pretty low standards in regards to what we’ll buy for a project anymore.

Reassembled everything, same problem. The throttle cable is loose in the damn switch housing. Bolt and clamp that hold it in place are snug, I think the little hole that it sits in is worn out and indented. Gonna try swapping out the switch gear, can I use washers to keep it from moving around?

Cam chain is the only major thing that Suzuki calls for changing around that mileage. Compression check, oil change, and do the valves. Ideally ride it if you can, I know from first hand experience, if you’re young and stupid, the transmissions aren’t that bullet proof.

Worn out throttle cable. As soon as I noticed that if I turned the bars right to full lock, the revs went up, knew what it was. Made the mistake of deciding to fuck with it last when I got home from the bar, and discovered that there’s only one adjuster nut on the end of the cable.
Tried fitting another cable that was handy, but it was too long. Gonna screw around with it this afternoon and see if I can botch something together while waiting on a new cable…or I’m just gonna throw on a spare set of RS38s and see what happens.
By the way, I fucking hate working on stock bikes. So much extra crap, and I could have sworn I had a hose on the breather before…

Makes sense, I know fuck all about Ws and prefer to keep it that way.

Try Allens Performance over here. I'm sure they'll ship to you and the £ is worthless at the moment so it shouldnt be expensive either
https://www.allensperformance.co.uk/
If they cant post, one of us would be able to sort it for you im sure
Thanks, same goes if you ever need anything from the states.

Yeah, I might just buy a spare set to save for later. I currently have a DJ kit in them and the needles and tubes are both shot.
it’s easy to forget how old these things are getting. Time to go back to stockpiling parts.

Price actually works about the same as here in the states, but they don’t say if they have them in stock or not. My biggest fear is them no longer being available once all the NOS parts sell out.

Needle jets, emulsion tubes, whatever you want to call them. Went to look for them on one of the parts suppliers here in the states and they're now showing as discontinued. Are we stuck with dynojet kits going forwards? Factory Pro doesn't make them and uses the stock ones in their jet kits. Are they still available in Europe? Suzuki part number is #09494-00677.
Still available for the slingshot 1100s, but I think Suzuki is killing off a lot of the parts for the 750s. Even more reason to swap 1100s into everything and run RS carbs I guess.

Did they even make them for the first gens? I've only ever seen them on the second gens.

That was also my thinking, since Cali generally has more restrictive emissions regs compared to the rest of the US, but Cali models ran BST36's so definitely not that.
Perhaps some jap import spec maybe?Yeah, probably spec for some specific country. CA carbs also had the idle adjust directly below the carbs, no cable out to the side. I grew up in CA, first thing you did when you got a bike was try and restore it back to what the other 49 states got.

Yup, those brackets off the passenger peg mounts. You can run them without them, but the plastics flex more. We can't get them anymore in the states, but they do show up on Eblag. I think Suzuki sold off or killed off the last of a lot of these little random brackets in the last 5-10 years. Every time I look for some OEM bolt or bracket I need to restore my one "stock" bike I find it's unavailable unless it was used on more than one model that was only around for a year or two.
Part number is 43815-41C0V, they were only one the 91/92 750/1100.
Also need the cushions which are 09320-08018, and they're still around.

Looking at parts fiche's etc.. it seems the Cali models came with BST36's still and everywhere else got the BST38's but some had the powerjet circuit disabled, however this was typically done via installation of a #0 jet. All the pipework is would still be present, unlike with your set that is really strange as the float bowls do not even have the "port" the pipe would connect to machined into them.
Can confirm, I've got American BST38s on a 750N and they've got all the tubing, but the power jets are blocked with a #0 jet. I thought all the bandits had a single fuel inlet in the middle between #2 & #3 and a remote choke. Those look like GSXR 750 carbs maybe for a specific market with restrictive emissions? Everything looks right except the lack of the power jet holes.

Possible to use an oil cooled axle in W forks?
-
Have to use bandit cam gears on the GSXR cams, and anything is better than stock bandit cams.
-
If you already have the MP throttle, just swap out the throttle tube for an R6 one or something similar. I’ve got a couple of them and I agree, practically have to readjust your hand on the throttle to get it wide open.
-
No worries, we have the same problem, and definitely worse on hot days.

Loose plans at the moment really, dialled in gsxr DOT head cams, ignitech, cable clutch, possibly headwork further down the line and a K gsxr 5 spring clutch mod
Nice, I’ve got an old ratty slingshot 1100 frame that I’m gonna do a similar thing with. B12, dot head until I can get a 1216 kit in it. I love my purple 750N, but damn does it kill my back after awhile, I need more naked bikes back on the road.
-
By the way, what are you doing to the B12 engine? I can’t imagine it’s going in stock.

Most of us on here have at least one or two stock speedos with broken needles. Years of UV from sitting in the sun weakens the plastic and then they snap at high speed, but usually higher speed than that. They’re mechanical and I wouldn’t be surprised if the internals lose all the grease over time.
If you search, there are threads on here for opening up the speedo and repairing/replacing the needle. I’m lazy and only have one GSXR with stock gauges and just replaced the gauge cluster the last time I had one snap on me.
