  1. Thanks guys lock down is helping get bits done , seat pad has been re done , seatunit and mudguard will be back this week so fingers crossed for a few better pictures of my progress weekend
  2. Few set backs a few bits done , Dropped the oil threads came out with the drain plug , Took sump off and cleaned it to send out for repair think I will remove oil pick up bolt 2 snaps in the casings so now front end is off and cant lean bike over to be able to see the snapped bolt . Need to refit forks and wheel etc so I can sort this before I can move on Mudguard and seat collected by painter as he passes on way too work

  7. have painted bare metal with satin black as i dont want the bare metal go rusty in this shite uk weather
  8. I had this idea a few years ago for my gs750 build and decided to use the bits on this build plenty of do s and donts but when you get the idea and find a spare tank complete with straps . Hell yeah so long discussions with mr metal magician kenty and boom done dusted ready for next evolution

  10. Bit more sourced for this build , one off harris yokes, and gsxr 1100 slingy clocks hoping to get a new bracket fabricated so it fits to fairing mount
  11. I have made two plates out of scrap aluminium 10mm plate as a temporary fix to get angles and ride height , these will be re done when paint gets sent away . Few pics to show the idea , from my phone as I am not with bike

  13. Chatted with painter hoping for a quick turn round as a single colour and only minimal prep as good solid parts

  15. I did take jets and floats off too then do for an hour turning every 15 mins

Had few nights in garage tidying up again , few Small jobs done , spacers made and brackets fabbed , happy how the colours have turned out just hope the engine is a good one , as it's been in the frame for a long time before yj bought it . Old age expecting problems before I even get to starting motor .

  20. I don't want it to look brand new , the tank has small imperfections and that's fine as the tank and frame kit are from the early 90s
  21. I am finishing the tank by hand with fine sanding block and going for brushed finish
