  1. as above, I have AP racing on my old steel frame spondon. They do come up for sale on Eblag and if you look on some of the classic racing sites, they appear there as were / are used for racing
  2. I thought it was only the Jap 750's that had 16" front wheels John?. Think I have a 16" front end somewhere and some Jap 750 clocks. maybe use the drive from the 16" front end?
  3. didn't know you could do that? I was hoping there was a simple cost effective fix, like a different drive or a converter. anyone had clocks re calibrated?
  4. does not sound like there is a way of doing a conversion that is accurate and I want to keep the Kat clocks for the looks. Think I'll just hook them up and go and road test them with another bike and mark on the speed limits
  5. I agree about keeping the clocks, just need to make them work if possible. If its not possible, I will do what you and John are suggesting, cheers
  6. yea, its the wheel size difference that I think is going to be the problem as a 17" wheel is going to be spinning faster than a 19" wheel at the same road speed
  7. Hi, putting a GSXR 1100 front end in my Katana. Is it possible to get the Katana speedo to run off the GSXR wheel and drive? Anyone done this?
  8. Thanks Wraith, got your PM, cheers
  9. That would be near enough for me. Do you have any contact details you could send me?
  10. Hope you dont mind me asking, but where is the guy who did the repairs based? I have a set of katana cases with the front mounts broken off.
  11. great build Sander. As Kenty says, those colours suit it. Pity you are not a bit nearer as a trip to Maxton would sort your suspension. Trick frame, suzuki engine and turbo all the right ingredients! congrats on bike of the month
  12. looks better now imo. I have thicker forks on my mountain bike than those old ones lol. How did we ever ride these things.............
  13. nothing to see here.... move along...lol looking good, whats not to like
  14. Yes the wiseco 1170 kit is 10.25:1. I know cos I have just bought one
  15. dont ever sell a Spondon, sell one of the other bikes that's cluttering your garage up
  16. a lot of work gone in to that. looks a lot better now. That tubular arm looks like it needs a lot more adding. keep posting pics please
  17. thats good info as I have two sets that need refurbing, so Norman Hyde it is then!
  18. these do some race fibreglass http://www.raggededgeracing.com/35.html
  19. dont think you can get them anymore, so you might as well give up and sell me the bike for £50
  20. funnily enough the other kat project is going monoshock with USD front end. Got a GSXR arm for that one and the 1100L forks so far. So has anyone used bandit arm and front end together?
  21. Didn't they put 750 arms in back in the day to make them handle better? shorter for the twisties?
  22. Thanks guys, not read it all yet, but looks like great info. I have some GSXR1100 forks, but am using them for a different more modified build. I assume bandit 1200 forks would be the best right way up forks / front end to use?
  23. This is my own personal opinion, but I think once you get past the aircooled engine era, the handling rapidly improved on standard frames, so the special frames were more for building something a bit different rather than improving handling. Factory frames got a whole lot better around the GSXR era. Not sure what slingshot you have, but not sure it would be worth spending on a special frame. Sure you could spend way less improving what you have
