Bomber666 Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 L O All, it’s been a while since my last post and I do try to be as independent as possible but I’ve just purchased a very clean and original 1990 slingshot and need to do a few small jobs so can someone please point me in the right direction for a gsxr1100L workshop manual download.. and also a 1999 Srad 750 manual or exploded drawing of the front end... I’m fitting 1999 GSXR 750 forks with a 1100 M wheel so need to see the spindle spacer, can’t find one anywhere.. I have the spindle and bearings but no spacer.. thanks in advance..XxX Quote
Swiss Toni Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 (edited) I'll have a look for you. Might have the Slingshot one, don't know about the SRAD 'tho! Edited August 7, 2018 by Swiss Toni 1 Quote
CockneyRick Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 I might be shouted down, but the 11M wheel in Srad ain't easy. Better off with the proper wheel tbh. If it's so you can run the speedo, then go back to Slingy forks. The Srad "spacer" is actually the nut that is gripped by the fork bottoms & screws onto the spindle with the spacer as part of it. 1 Quote
stellafella Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Ive used carl slater.com to download manuals mate, alphasports or a good suzuki website should give you an parts drawing of an srad front end. 1 Quote

Thanks M8, I was beginning to regret the whole idea.. actually it was the inner wheel spacer between the bearings I was looping for.. I’ve still got all the stingy bits so might just go back to that idea.. I bought the Srad forks cos the stansions are a bit pitted on the slingy ones and thought it would be an easy swap not realising that I’d have to swap everything .. just my luck.. cheers for the advice Pal..x Edited August 7, 2018 by Bomber666 Quote

Bomber666 Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 Cheers for the response chaps.. I think I’ve decided to sack the SRAD forks idea and get the slingshot forks back in there.. they do have a bit of pitting on the stanchions but I might just get away with it.. 1 Quote

Crass Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 (edited) Yeah, has to be something for the inner race of the bearings to clamp to on the inside, or else the tendency will be for the inner race to turn along with the outer race / wheel. The inner race should not turn around the spindle. I see that as item 2 on the fiche too. Edited August 8, 2018 by Crass 2 Quote

Yeh i removed the bearings and spacer from the 1100M wheel cos the spindle for the SRAD forks is much thicker (pic) but now I’ve just realised that the speedo drive is too small as well.. That’ll probably be another £30.. bollox..! another lesson learned.. Quote

I thought he was on about the spacer (or not) between forks & bearing face. Should have worded it better. Yes there's a strengthening spacer inside the wheel itself, trapped between the 2 bearings 1 Quote
