Jelly Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 I'm thinking of finding a replacement for the original 35mm front fork one of my ET's has. This fork has a fork length of 81cm. But I would like to keep the original 19" wheel on the bike. Who has an idea of a nice RWU/RSU fork to upgrade the bike's front without going too modern. Quote
Jelly Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 Got a B12 fork already, is going in my other ET (which will also have an oilcooled engine). It's shorter than the 81cm original ET forks. Would prefer to have two different bikes. Quote
Rene EFE Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 GSX1100G; stupid long but faily expensive and hard to find. Quote
wraith Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I've got some GSX1100efe forks with progressive springs fitted yokes and spindle, which I was going to put on flybay but PM me if you want can get size tomorow for you. Quote
Jelly Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 Hmm would it be an upgrade? I'm sure I can get a set of forks around here (Holland), but thanks Quote
Jonboy Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I run front end off a ****a VFR750 on my GS, fork length is 780mm, also running the brakes and wheel, works well, looks good, without in my opinion looking to modern.. Jonboy Quote
KATANAMANGLER Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) Stupid question Jelle but why upgrade the forks then keep the 19 inch snowflake? You will have to make adapter plates for a mudguard unless the front end was deigned for a 19" wheel. Getting the callipers mounted will also be tricky. You will also still have a limited range of tyres. A complete bandit front end and wheels should be very straight forward or a complete ZXR front end And wheels like Deeds has on his. wraith Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I think the GSX1100G had an 18" front as standard, and (no good for you) the rear wheels of the GSX1100G and XV800 go straight into the GS850/1000G ;) Quote
