Blue Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Am I right in thinking the design of this means I don’t have a locking tab? Quote
bigpants Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Mine doesn't have a tab washer but I did put a penny washer over the outside and an M6 bolt into the output shaft. Quote
wraith Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Technically yes you still have one, but because of the way the but is threaded it tightens when the bike is moving (unlike the kwaks that undo themselves) So it you don't put one on you won't lose you nut, but it may be a real pain to get off when you want to change the sprocket Quote
CockneyRick Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 When i first built my Yoshi on 1st runout, some fella came over to me & said "do you normally run it like that" pointing at my sprocket. No nut! It had still undone itself & the sprocket was just floating on the shaft. Luckily the special cover kept it barely in place! One jubilee clip later & i got home Quote

My old GSX happily undid itself years back - nut facked off and it was a long push back home! Quote
baldrick Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 I had that with the rear hub of my vfr single sider (on a harris). I just caught sight of it out of the corner of my eye as it hurtled past and landed in the overgrown verge. Whats more remarkable was that I managed to find everything, all the rubbers, spacers, nut the lot. Think the cost of OEM spares was what kept me at it lol. 3 Quote
