bernardo Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 I managed to break the throttle tube on my slabby 750. So I thought I may as well fit a qa one. Any recommendations? Bernard Quote
Simbec1863 Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 There is some info if you search for the article “quick action throttle where to buy” don’t know how to paste a link here Quote
canamant Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 (edited) A QA twistgrip with flatties will make the action much heavier. Possibly to the point of discomfort round town or on long runs. Also remember that flatties don't necessarily like being opened fast. Edited November 9, 2017 by canamant Quote

Proper flatslides with an accelerator pump aren't an issue, and if it's too heavy on your precious little flappy wrists, maybe you should ride a Gurls blouse. I'm running a R6 throttle tube in Bandit switchgear to get a quick turn. 1 Quote
bernardo Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 Not really worried about a heavy throttle. I've seen the R1/6 conversion on later bikes, seems ideal, but would it work on a slabby? Quote
yantosh Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 I just used a cheap pit bike throttle assembly on my slabby Quote
markfoggy Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 You can mod the original with some bits of plumbing tube and some glue from your local builders merchants, but an R6/1 throttle tube is worth a shout from that, there site. You may run into cable length probs though. I just bought a Venhill. Got a kit with lots of modability, mainly 'cause I have no idea where my build is going, but I want to make sure that I'm not going to highside into a hedge on a maiden run. Fack, when did I get so boring. Quote

maxwin Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Not that it will help with the broken tube but I recently came across an insert by Hairy RS for £25 that fits all standard Suzuki throttles and turns them in 1/5th turn. Quote
