Wescooley19 Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Dirtquake 2017, team eyup yorkiemura came, saw, entered and didn't fall down! I entered on a mate of mine's ratted 750 teapot, stuck some cheapo wets on it and despite never having ridden on a dirt oval i didn't come last despite it's bulk! Any one from here attend? If so, pics or vids would be mucho appreciated! 2 Quote

I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back again next year! MFP did me proud, no dramas, and a fifth place to boot! Edited July 9, 2017 by Wescooley19 8 Quote

It was something i fancied doing last year, entries had to be in super early (march 23rd at midnight!) to ensure a place but it was well worth it! 1 Quote

Sheep Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 I have been to this every year except this year as I was working but I may not have gone due to how much the cost has risen for entry since North One production have taken over...when Sideburn was in control it seemed a much more relaxed/tongue in cheek affair, not saying that those riding were not having fun you understand, but it just seemed to get more commercialised and money orientated....I believe they are still holding it next year but have a 'snow' event also planned..... Maybe I am getting too old and miserable lol 1 Quote

There are still a number of oval race meetings that don't have the Dirtquake new owners and subsequent price increase, and also have the Inappropriate Road Bike Class ;-) Meetings at Scunthorpe speedway and on various beaches I believe... 1 Quote

Brad Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I've only just spotted this as I'm reading loads of stuff as I haven't got any work to do. I rode in DQ this year in the Hooligan class on a Krazy horse customs Indian scout. I normally help with the marshaling of the event though and ride in the DTRA flat track national championship. Dirtquake will be happening again at Kings Lynn, under the rule of North one productions, Sideburn have also run DQ USA and Snowquake (an ice racing event in the Italian alps, I rode in that in January). All of the events and some more too will apparently carry on. If you just fancy a go at the inappropriate road bike class, without all the dirtquake stuff surrounding it, the Scunthorpe run an Inappropriate road bike class alongside the Amateur speedway meetings all year. If you really hate your bike then Mablethorpe winter beach racing championship have a collection of road bike classes alongside the MX and grasstrack classes, basically if you turn up with a bike, they'll find you a class to ride in. Hope this helps some of you that fancy doing something daft @fatblokeonbandit@SiBag@Sheep@Wescooley19@zedhead 5 Quote
zedhead Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 Nice one Brad, I believe that this is something that a few others are interested in (well, DQ and Scunnie, not so much the trauma of salty sand in every crevice). @Kid Kearsley do it! Quote
