Fitted the crank case shells, checked clearance with plastigauge (just for the hell of it really as there new). Fitted big end shells to the super finished mk1 hayabusa con rods then onto the super finished b12 crank. Have just realised the new heavy duty cam chain I have is for a 1127 & not a b12.

Slow progress but got a bit more done. Fitted the APE cylinder studs, there's 3 different lengths O.o. Did a dry top end build with cylinders, 2mm spacor plate & head to check there were enough threads sticking through the head

Heavy duty cam chain arrived,  made by the same company in Japan that supply APE but this is £20 cheaper for not been in APE packaging. Fitted it to the crank dropped the gear box in as well as all the little bits & bobs, buttend it up & torqued it down. :pimp:

Took the sharp edges of the mk1 hayabusa pistons just to stop them melting if they felt the need to. Checked the ring gaps, cleaned the pistons up fitted rings then back on to the busa rods in original order.

Took some measurements to work the compression ratio out. According to my maths on the comp calculator it's 8.83:1 O.o, bit higher than I expected it to be but close enough for boost :banana:So bolted the big valve flowed head on with the HD APE nuts.

Fitted the super finished APE cam sprockets to the gsx1100f super finished cams, just set the slots in the middle for now while I bolt it together. Found a ignition plate & rotar in my stash of stuff. This engine started as crank cases with crank & gear box in it. I reckon there is at least 6 different engines in this one so far which ain't a problem, just means I have to go searching for all the small parts in me stash of stuff.
