Clutch plate re-fitting - doh, I've forgotten which way round they go

On re-commisioning my bike the clutch was dragging. I took all the plates out for cleaning (a couple were obviously stuck together). I now need to put the plates back but it's been years since I reassembled a clutch and have forgotten which way the steel plates go back in. The genuine manual does not state this. Is it flat side or round side to the engine? Thanks for any input. Oh, it's an 1100 efe engine.

the logic behind which way is varied ...

I always fit them "flat" side in.....radius side out......just make sure they are all flat and clean ...."I use brake cleaner after scuffing them with scotch bright pad 1st."

Simple answer is.............................................................it makes 2/10ths of f**k all difference! (Clutch guy with Championship wining Comp and Funnybike team)

If fitting  new clutch plates soak in the oil your going to use, preferably  over night or longer if possible

Also make sure the steels are flat and level in a perfect world use a surface plate in a home work shop use a piece of plate glass and make sure there are no gaps with fleeler guages.
