Peterneedspower Posted November 19 Posted November 19 Hi all , I have just got a gsx1100g 1991 which has an oil cooled 1127cc engine…. I’ve upgraded to 4-1 viper exhaust pod filters , stage 3 jets and shims.. 3 ohm coils and leads all good, but I’m looking for more power upgrades .. can’t afford dyna2000 or turbo kit or nos or cams here in the uk it’s expensive to add power.. many ideas would be really appreciated as if I knew if other models ie slingshot . I’d search market place for used parts.. hope this all made sence Quote

spiderpig Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Well anything from the 1127s or 1157 will go in. Gsxr cams will give a bit more power at expense off bottom end. I'm not sure how much abuse the shaft will take tho. Quote
Upshotknothole Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Bigger carbs, like BST38s off the GSXR 750s or cams out of a GSXR 1100. Could even do a dot head swap off a 750 if there's enough room in the frame. Basically any of the standard upgrades used on the top ends of Bandits should work. Post up some photos, we like photos of bikes here. Quote
wraith Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Well, without digging deep into your pocket you've done the basics. As said above, the gsxr750 38mm carbs will give it a good boost but you will need the carb rubber inlet manifolds to match and they are next to impossible to find. Gsxr cams will give you more top end power but again trying to get a good set theses days is not easy. So you're down to ported head and/or 1216cc big bore, never are in the cheep side. 1 Quote
McLean Racing Posted November 23 Posted November 23 Id say you are about maxxed out on what you can afford to "bolt on". Porting the head will yeild more power if you are competent enough to do so but its not easy, and not recomended to do yourself if you are not familiar with engine tuning 1 Quote
