Ragerover Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Not done much over the last few weeks as been busy at work. plus I decided to re organise workshop to free up some space as new ramps were inbound. anyhow enough of that shut started today at 09:30 ive learnt over the years it’s much easier fitting the frame to the engine is easier than engine to frame 1 Quote
Ragerover Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Fit is tight as fuck reminded me of a girlfriend I had once fanny as tight as a mouse’s ear…. But that’s another story had to remove cam feed links it’s tgat tight ( need another plan for that Quote
Ragerover Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Swinging arm in then front end decided to keep the wheels the original colour for time being as I’m unsure of colour scheme for bike yet i have replaced wheel bearings and disc bolts for titanium though 3 Quote
Ragerover Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 (edited) fitted the Brembos but having second thoughts now as they look crap against the Rear HEL Edited March 17 by Ragerover 1 Quote
Ragerover Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Front Brembos rear HEL see what I mean ? I’ll ring HEL Monday see if I can get a deal 1 Quote
Ragerover Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 (edited) It’s always the daft little things that catch you out resevoir for tear shock hits the frame so need to find one that fits not shown the best on the pjoto ( never promised I was David Bailey ) been trying to get a rear sprocket to suit as standard on the Aprilia is 40t which is a bit small for normally aspirated GSXR so I’ll order one from Talon Monday Edited March 17 by Ragerover 3 Quote
Ragerover Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Next up I’ve got a big list of nuts and bolts required which I’ll get Monday too as a lot of stuff is just pinned Quote
Ragerover Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 A few more random shots pretty happy for 4 hrs work 8 Quote

imago Posted March 17 Posted March 17 I'll leave the girlfriend comments to @Blubberas that's more his area of expertise. As for the bike, it's coming together nicely. Always a great point when you get the big lumps going together, really lifts the mood and motivation even when you know the next phase is all the time consuming can barely see a change stuff. On a side note, how do you rate those Automech ramps? I'll need another when I move and the Pro-Bike lift I have is good but a few hundred more. Quote

Yep it’s good to see a change Not used them a lot as just in this week but they are solidly built they. Are a copy of pro bike no doubt In the garage where the ramps are used daily with heavy kit on we bought 2 2 year ago year and not a pick of bother we have 6 US Bendpacks too ( the best you can get ) the Automech are just a copy of those too. we only bought them as we couldn’t get Bendpack because of Covid Quote

Probike are decent lifts, it sounds like the Automech are the same deal but a bit cheaper. Quote

Ragerover Posted March 20 Author Posted March 20 ill post this in here and the main forum as i think its only fair Mark Walker/Martek have had a bit stick of late for non delivery etc well i had discussions with him re a frame or a Kat frame some time ago, when i bought this i rang him for some advice and he was very forthcoming. i needed a few bits that were missing we did a deal on a price and i got a good feeling about him we did have a heated discussion on delivery etc Me stating what i heard, him putting his side forward. Anyway i give him a deposit and agreed a delivery date. Everything arrived on time as promised cant fault the bloke speak as i find I'm going to order a Tank next 2 Quote
DAZ Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Fair play to you for the comments regarding Martek , you've had dealings that have been good which is nice to hear maybe he's had issues in the past that has caused negative reviews and is over them , hope so as with the demise of spondon bespoke frame makers are a rare breed .... DAZ Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Sad times @clivegto, the need to put your powerful engine in a frame that handled went away with the race reps of the late 80's and 90's the desire to do so is only held by a few die hards 2 Quote
