Ben520 Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 Hi, I believe this is a gsx1100 motor? From around 85-90? Having trouble not getting any spark.. Have replaced coil packs leads and plugs Have checked magneto, pulse generator with no luck.. traced all wiring and can't seem to find a problem...any help at all would be awesome! Also any info of what motor it is, number on block is 3110X-45565 Quote
Blubber Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 (edited) It definitely is an aircooled 1100. As it's black i would like to suggest to look for the 1983 to 1985 GSX 1100 ESD - the round tube frame version - for the most results for parts and diagrams. As for no spark. If they re-used the original / model specific CDI or ignitor unit ... that is now 40 years old , i would test that first. I can not see it on the pictures BTW Edited December 10, 2023 by Blubber 1 Quote

Ben520 Posted December 9, 2023 Author Posted December 9, 2023 Great thanks very much! I did take the original cdi apart and blew it out but that may be the problem as I can't find anything else not working, is there any way to test the cdi ? Quote
LLD Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 Indeed an 1100ESD or late 1100S Katana This does not have a CDI but an igniter. Should be too difficult to get one second hand if it is suspect Quote

LLD Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Correct, the later EFE models did have CDI and fixed crank triggers, the earlier ones had mechanical advance Quote
