I've not had a 1052 but I'm reliably informed that the 1052 is marginally shorter than the 1127/1157 and also the rear engine mount is a 10mm(same as the 750s) not a 12mm as on the larger motors but it's easy to drill the mounting hth

If you're building from a bare frame, the 88/89 j/I 750s had the least space and if you've to acquire an engine don't get hung up on a 1052 they're all at least 35 years old and there's loads more bandit 1200's about ....

The 1052 had an integrated breather that's slightly lower than the removable one on the 1127 and blandit 1200s. At the end of the day, you're not getting any 1100/1200 valve cover off when the engine is fully mounted in a 750 frame. You can remove the valve cover if you undo all engine mounts except the bottom rear and tilt the engines forwards in the frame and slide the valve cover back. Also requires removing the carbs.

What upshot says: the 1100 slabby has a unique slimline cam cover (magnesium) that has an integral breather. This makes the engine slightly shorter than other 1100/1200 engines :).

I think the 1052 engine is the only one that you can do that with. My 1127 in a 750K frame has barely any clearance.

If you remove the breather, it should be doable

Nope, believe me, I've tried. The only way to get the valve cover off an 1127 in a J/K frame is to remove all the engine mounts except the bottom rear, pull the carbs, and slide the valve cover back, and even then it's a tight squeeze. The J/K 750 frames were the smallest of the slingshot frames, they got taller with the L/M frames.
