Chay Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Hi Must have been loads of folk fitted bandit or gsxr wheels to gsx1100s in the past I fitted bandit 1200 rear to the standard et swingarm. Still have exact alignment to be set but what offset front sprocket am i looking for. Using 530 pitch Quote
TonyGee Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 on my 1100ET i used a 5/8th offset (about 16mm) 530 sprocket. but i also used a standard GSX1100 rear carrier that fits my 1200 bandit wheel. if you don't bring the rear sprocket further in to the wheel it wont line up right and it'll hit the frame. I have about 3mm clearance between the tyre and the frame. yeah its close but no contact YET 2 Quote
Chay Posted April 23, 2022 Author Posted April 23, 2022 Ive tried a 5/8 but it looks to much Was wondering if i should have got a 10 mm instead Quote
Dezza Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 3mm clearance: luxury (To be said in a broad Yorkshire accent, obviously.) 39 minutes ago, TonyGee said: on my 1100ET i used a 5/8th offset (about 16mm) 530 sprocket. but i also used a standard GSX1100 rear carrier that fits my 1200 bandit wheel. if you don't bring the rear sprocket further in to the wheel it wont line up right and it'll hit the frame. Chay Posted April 24, 2022 Author Posted April 24, 2022 Gone for a 3/8. Hope it will clear the frame 5/8 to much on mine Thanks Quote

Bennett_Eley Posted November 26 Posted November 26 If anyone is still in this thread i was just gonna go with a 5/8th offset for my bandit 1200 swingarm on a 78 gs1000, but after reading this, I like the idea of trying a 3/8th and using washers as spacers. It's my understanding that the gsx1100 and gs1000 are the same dimensions? i guess ill wait till my swingarm comes in and ill use a laser to measure the offset needed. Quote

Toecutter Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I ended up using a 10mm offset 530 sprocket in mine. Rf900 swingarm. Stock et sprocket carrier with a little machined off and if I remember correctly a 1.5mm shim behind the drive sprocket to align chain run. With the wheel central and a 180 tyre I had chain to tyre scuffage. Chain also about 2mm from frame. Fitted a 170 tyre on a 5.5 rim (bandit 1200) and all was well. Quote

Looks ok when you do it with strings, till you check it with a laser. Laser on the front sprocket, measure on the center of the rear sprocket. After that check everything with the laser again.blockquote widget Edited November 27 by Reinhoud Quote
