Bobby Posted July 20, 2021 Posted July 20, 2021 Hello all recently picked up this 87 GSXR 750 and just wondering what country it was originally from as it’s an import, it’s been in the uk since 1991. here are some photos of which I think might hopefully give a clue, there is a steering lock at the lower steering clamp. Japanese writing on one of the warning lights, few Japanese markings here and there. Not sure about the brass plate, someone may have done that themselves? what do you guys think? 1 Quote
Fazz711 Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 (edited) Have the clocks got fuel guage? Think the Jap home market ones had file guage. Edited July 21, 2021 by Fazz711 Spelling lol Quote

Dezza Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 There should be a number stamped on the headstock that will provide a clue..... Quote

Dezza Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Maybe something like this. http://www.suzukicycles.org/_misc/identification.shtml#gsc.tab=0 Quote
wsn03 Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 Mine is a Jap import - it has a fuel guage and also a speed warning light, but that has possibly been disabled. Can't remember exactly as last time mine was on was 25 years ago...but I think it is orange and in the dashboard, comes on at 50mph Quote
Swiss Toni Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 Mines a JDM. Frame no starts with GR71F- but, it’s an ‘85 F model. Quote
GeorgeEI7KO Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 Mine is GR71G JDM also. 1986 and confirmed by Suzuki as a GSX750R-2. Has it factory bungs welded in the swingarm for the paddock stand bobbins? Thats another clue... Quote
