Gammaboy Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) Anyone know if the 93/94/95 750 and 1100 swingarms are the same length (and what those lengths are?)? Gut feel says the 11 will probably be longer... Edited November 26, 2015 by Gammaboy Quote
badgerkdd Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 I believe they are longer, I'm sure there's a post on another thread that says so? I can measure my 750 WR swinger if that helps though? Quote
ziggy Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) According to @Kristjan 11s are longer Edited November 26, 2015 by ziggy 1 Quote

Kristjan Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) 1100 is approx. 4cm longer.600 and 640 mm if memory serves me right. Edited November 26, 2015 by Kristjan Quote
Gammaboy Posted November 26, 2015 Author Posted November 26, 2015 Cheers - will keep an eye out for a 750 arm then. Quote
Gammaboy Posted November 26, 2015 Author Posted November 26, 2015 Next Question - will a 180 or 190 go into a WP? Quote
Captain Chaos Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 1100 is approx. 4cm longer.600 and 640 mm if memory serves me right.the 1100WP swingarm is 585mm long, according to the Suzuki Technical Information from the press release in 1992. Then again, it might have been a pre-production model. Quote
badgerkdd Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Next Question - will a 180 or 190 go into a WP?I run 180 quite happily, not sure of the clearance on a 190 as the 180 is running quite close to the chain already. Quote
Gammaboy Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 Ok, cheers. Looks like I might wind up trying to wedge an 07/08 R1 rear into it... 1 Quote

Then again, it might have been a pre-production model.I could measure a 750 one up tomorrow to see what I'm talking about. However, the real pivot to axle length will be determined by the chain tensioners... Remember, we have slots at the back that are more than one axle diameters long. Quote
Captain Chaos Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 yes but swingarm lengths are always with the wheel spindle in the most forward position. But you'd better measure to be sure since Suzuki press info is not always accurate. Like the 1100K production model being significantly different from the pre-production models which the press got in 1988. Quote
Gammaboy Posted November 30, 2015 Author Posted November 30, 2015 Is the 1100 arm's extra length really going to make much difference to the way a 750 behaves? Quote
badgerkdd Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Probably not once your chain is bedded in and your using the middle of your chain adjustment length....... Quote
Racing Geek Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I put a 900rr arm in a 600w frame. I liked how the bracing looked on the 900rr arm compared gsxr stuff and the width back by the axle was pretty wide so I had plenty of room to get things spaced right. The lines seemed to flow better too. I can dig up measurements if you want. Quote

The pivot of the 900rr swingarm is really wide so I had to shave material off the frame to make it fit and then I had to cut down the stock 600w swingarm pivot hardware and make some other custom spacers. If this were to go in a 750 or 1100 I would imagine the pivot would be wider and it would save some machine work. I've got other pictures of the swingarm swap and I'm sure I have all the measurements saved somewhere too but I'd have to dig for them. The bike has 04 gsxr600 forks in 91 gsxr750 triples with a 929 front wheel and rotors. I ended up using the 929 rear wheel, rotor, and caliper in the 900rr swingarm but I put a spare supermoto wheel in there for this picture to see how it looked. 1 Quote
