DaveSRT Posted October 30, 2020 Share Posted October 30, 2020 Hi there, I'm new to this site I've just got myself a gsx/katana project, has anyone got any information on engine numbers, the bikes fitted with a gsx1100 engine and the alternator rotor is missing. Before I bother sourcing one (not so easy anyway) I need to try and identify the engines year, has anyone any ideas, cheers Quote Link to comment

Niloc Posted November 2, 2020 Share Posted November 2, 2020 hi OE suzuki manual gives the generator rota diameter of 118mm for the gsx110sz and 130mm for the gsx100ex, and the crank on the Ex has a oil passage drilled through it. But you probably know that and would need to dig deep into it to check that. I have what I believe to be 1982 an EX on the bench at the moment. So if any guru on here knows more on the differences I'd be intrested to know as well and happy to compare any markings with mine . if that helps. Quote Link to comment
