RickLee Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Does anyone here know where I can find some Gs 750-1000 brake caliper springs for the rear pads? Tiny little springs .... found only one single spring on Eblag for 0utrageous shipping price. Or... has anyone found an alternative spring clip? thanks. Quote
RickLee Posted October 6, 2020 Author Posted October 6, 2020 I’m not as concerned about the 11.00 price but the 6.99 shipping cost irks me. You could literally put this in an envelope with a single postage stamp for 60 cents Quote
Poldark Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 You can do better than that at the dealer parts counter. Do you have a Suzuki dealer nearby? Don't expect them to have parts for your bike in stock, but they are connected to the entire Suzuki parts network. My local dealer has online parts ordering with free in-store pick-up. There's also a few dealerships out there who specialize in online parts sales, and their prices tend to be lower but they charge shipping. Here's an example: https://www.mrcycles.com/oemparts/a/suz/50d3ff8ef8700230d8b4dfb4/rear-caripers Quote

fastgs287 Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Same as Bandit, SV650 and GS500E rear caliper spring if I remember rightly... Quote
wraith Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 +1 with @fastgs287 and also gsx1100f/gsx600f/gsx750f and gsx range, and zzr1100 gen2 etc etc etc Quote
RickLee Posted October 7, 2020 Author Posted October 7, 2020 The interchangeability will be a big plus... this is good knowledge. Thanks. Quote
Swiss Toni Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Might be stating the obvious here but, have you tried your local Suzuki dealer? They may surprise you! Quote

Poldark Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Joke was on the website's misspelling of caliper as "cariper". Sorry, I was a bit slow on that one. 1 Quote

RickLee Posted October 7, 2020 Author Posted October 7, 2020 Nearest Suzuki dealer is 50 miles away From me, but I’m making a list and calling them. If they have what I’m looking for I’ll drive to get it. I make the trip once a month anyway. Quote
BigT Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 It's only $4.48 on my local dealers web site. See if that dealer has a web site, order online and, when the parts come in, take your woman to lunch in an exotic location (and pick up your parts) 1 Quote

RickLee Posted October 16, 2020 Author Posted October 16, 2020 Brakes are finished. Appear to be working fine as it sits. Got the springs at my “local” Suzuki Dealer 6.00 x 2. Only had to drive 60 miles there and 60 miles back with 2 pieces of sprung wire in my pocket. Took a look at the new Suzuki’s in their showroom... very nice. Quote

I went to the dealer for parts today too, but I didn't have to drive near as far. I enjoyed looking at the new stuff but it's just not for me; I'd rather acquire some non-running for cheap price and bring it back to life. Wife and kids were with me; got bombarded with wishes for a 50cc dirt bike or four-wheeler. 1 Quote
