Alex Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Hello all. Would a 17t front sprocket fit on the b12 without hitting the clutch push rod? Thanks in advance alex. Quote
wraith Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 15T is the biggest you can go without modification, 16T you need to remove some of the meat from the rear part of the cover where the fixing bolt gose through. Never tryed a 17T. Quote
Askamaskinservice Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 (edited) @wraith Is this for 530 or 630? Edited July 24, 2020 by Askamaskinservice Quote

Never tryed a 17T. Confused ! The Blandit bottom cases are pretty much the same as a GSXR - Yes? I've fitted 532 pitch, 17T sprockets to both my Turbo'd GSXR engines without any problems - both were 3/8" / 10mm offset for chain run. Admittedly the clearances were minimal but they worked fine! Losing 6 or 7 teeth off the back means you get into chain run problems over the S/Arm pivot. Besides, a 17T front is kinder to a chain than a 15T. 18T would even better but that eats through everything LOL! Quote
Alex Posted July 25, 2020 Author Posted July 25, 2020 I have a triumph t595 swing arm I need the clearance on the swing arm. A 15t rubs the chain guide to much. I need to go as big as I can on the front as a triumph has a 18 or 19. Also I am running a 247 whp turbo engine Quote

Two more teeth in the front is actually six less in the rear. As for the sprocket cover - I have a 1052 cover in 1157. This critical bolt is not compatible with the crankcase. Quote
Ted M Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 (edited) Yes it does fit I needed to modify the cover by omitting bolt 26 and trimming the spigot that it goes through. Edited July 25, 2020 by Ted M Quote
wraith Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Pics to help 17t front hits the rear bolt that holds sprocket cover 16t misses bolt just But u less you have one of these gsxr covers you need to remove some meat from cover 17t as you can see chain just misses clutch push rod All the sprockets above are 530 And before some dimwit start's saying 525 or 520 sprockets are smaller top sprocket is a 520 bottom one is a 530 If Gixer1460 had put a 17t or more on his bike without altering anything he has got some sort of special powers we don't know about, or he is using the 750 gear box with the clutch on the clutch cover. Pictures don't make mistakes 3 Quote

It's the happy medium for my set up, hit 200mph on the dyno as well not seen that on the road though. As Wraith says I had to remove some material from the case on the back bolt. Gixer1460 Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I obviously subconsciously removed the offending bolt / casting - no superhuman powers! Its not as if there are only two screws holding the cover on - don't stress, you can lose a couple! 3 Quote
