Frame Paint

Hi Lads,

I want to repaint the frame on my GSX1100E. Has anyone got a reference for this or code for the silver paint colour used on the frame.

For standard paint codes try SOC. They like standard bikes

Thanks all, I did join some time ago, but its been one of those long term projects and generally found the info i needed on the site. Don't worry It will not be standard when it is finished.

With the correct OEM M6 spring washers for that year's model

GSX1100E  1980-83 since the frame is black standard paintcode 019

GSX1100 E 1984- Silver is paintcode 13L

I suspect the 1135 in his username suggests he owns an ef/efe, which has the silver frame. Just assuming

Thanks Eddie, that's the one 1985  GSX with 1135 engine with silver frame. Is there any way of finding out the correct colour code for this silver paint.

13L is the paintcode

Any powdercoater will come pretty close.

I did one about three years ago and decided to steer away from the usual powdercoat route. 

Out came the rattle cans and the closest I managed to the original was silver hammerite smooth, it even has the metallic fleck.
