mike3684 Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 (edited) So I have a 1987 GSX-R 750 that I have owned for 9 years now, it was my first Suzuki and it has been phenomenal to me. I have managed to put nearly 20,000 miles on it but I scored some adjustable Cam sprockets and, while its apart already, I would really like to dial in the Cams as accurately as possible (I have all the equipment, piston stop, degree wheel, dial indicator... patience). I can only manage to find physical dimensions to these cams, which specs out as far as wear limits, but absolutely nothing in the way of Lobe Separation Angle, or relative Lobe Centerline Degrees. Long story short, whose got the down-low on stock '87 camshaft tuning so I can get the Advance/Retard, Overlap, etc. spot on? Side note- Ill take as much info as you can hit me with, the more the better! Thanks -Mike- Edited August 20, 2019 by mike3684 sentence structure Quote
Ted M Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 Not sure if this is what you're after but you can use this guide to help. I found it quite good when I dialled my cams in. http://www.webcamshafts.com/pages_misc/degreeing.html Quote
Gixer1460 Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 Never seen stock figures published I suppose most rely on the stamped timing marks - these work well enough. As regard actual degrees with std. cams & adjustable wheels - 110 degs on both works for me in most cases. Quote
Duckndive Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 I don't have one to hand but I,m sure the opening and closing figures are in the factory workshop manual..... Quote
dupersunc Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 I think the Yoshi tuning manual has optimised figures for stock cams. Quote
KATANAMANGLER Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 It's all in the hop up manual for the 750 in the vault. Follow the link and download it. http://oldskoolsuzuki.info/archives/747 2 Quote
