Katana build: gsxr wheel question

Hi Guys!

I have a 2004 gsxr rear wheel for this project. I need to move the sprocket inward towards the center line.  Is there another models sprocket carrier that would drop into this wheel and have the sprocket closer to the center line?

I will post in the Water cooled section as well.

Thank you

The problem is probably that the wheel is too wide, both rim width and hub width. Most people use an early 4.5" Slingshot wheel with a GS 500 sprocket carrier with a 160 tyre. Swingarms are quite narrow.

Yes I gave up on mine and used a bandit 600 wheel 160 tyre with gs500 carrier

With a 180 tyre you will need to modify the frame or offset the wheel. You might squeeze it in but once the chain wears it may well hit the tyre or the frame.

In my GSX 1100 et I have 530 chain, 160 tyre, 4.5 x 17 rim and it just fits.

Hope this helps.
