VJ Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Making progress on my gsxg engine rebuild but I cant get the clutch centre nut out, I welded some bar onto a steel plate to try and make a holding tool but all it did was bend the plate. Any amazing tips to get it out without needing to buy the proper tool? Cheers John Quote
Jaydee Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 I use an air impact gun to strip out clutches. Saves a lot of time. Quote
Guest YoshiJohnny Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 you did unbend the lock washer??? Quote
davecara Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 It takes exactly 4 dugga duggas to get that nut off 3 Quote
jonny1bump Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 I use impact gun too. If your talking M clutch and undoing big nut that holds the conical springs against pressure plate, then get two pieces of decent steel. Join together one end with long bolt into swing arm pivot and at oposite ends bolt in each arm that lines up with the slots in the outer pressure plate. Hope that makes sense, can take picture tomorrow night if you don't understand that ramble. If you on about inner basket so clutch already out long bar attached to old clutch steels with spacers. davecara Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 (edited) Start with a little one, one big, one small and then a big finish Edited February 13, 2019 by davecara Quote
