Fast road/track 1200cc+ oil boiler . What to start with
McLean Racing replied to dupersunc's topic in Oil Cooled
I had the same result a few years back, 1216 kit, stock 11m head and cams, termignoni exhaust, 40cv's with filters. Made 147bhp and 98ft/lb torque. Then i got the head done and it turn it into a whole different animal lol -
Im pretty sure i got the one that i recovered. Wont get to finals but ill sort unit out no probs
-
Ffs. Will jump on laptop later and do it. Pain in the arse this picture loading shit lol

I run a starter but that works from an external 24v battery/starter pack and doesnt suck power from the main battery. I dont use an alternator and have a APE blanking plate in place
-
As Viz said. Depends how good ur battery is. I did 20 miles to get home once without the alternator plugged in........
-
Cant do it from my phone
-
Thats what i did. Fitted an m16 to 1/8npt adapter to that gallery. So i can use my oil pressure sensor for the datalogger. Im trying to upload a pic but it wont let me
-
Yes mate. I would upload a pic but i cant from my phone

The 750k head would be a good head. But thats the only thing worth taking off that motor. So unless u want to butcher 3 motors to build 1, then id probably leave the 750 motor intact. I would still start with the 1100 motor due to the roller cam chain, better cams and better clutch -

1216 is a good all round package. Me personally id use the 1100 motor but use the bandit block as the liners are a little thicker so leaves a bit more meat on them once bored out. Theres a few little bits u can do to make a little more peak power etc but anywere between 150 & 160hp is a good figure depending on compression etc. U can make more power but then u start needing to run race fuels etc to lower the chance of detonation -
Yes its presurised but the allen head bolt under it is the same gallery so easier to take off from there
-
Used APE studs in various motors over the years. Never had a problem at all with em. I know plenty of dragbike racers aswell who use em and never had a problem so are u sure its ur studs that are the problem?
-
Your putting the data in wrong. This is what u need....... Bore 81mm Stroke 59mm Head gasket bore 80.56 (cometic mls) Head gasket 0.55mm (cometic mls) Combustion volume 23cc
-
What head gasket do u plan to use? Cometic MLS or copper?
-
Because you combustion chamber CC number is -304cc which will in effect give u half of fuck all lol If its a stock 1127 with stock valves, the combustion chamber is around 23cc Also remember that that calculator doesnt take into consideration the head gasket thickness, which can be anywere between 0.5mm to 1.2mm depending on what gasket u use So even putting in the correct cc value in that calc will give u the wrong reading
-
Glad to hear i wasnt too far out Clive lol (or talking too much shite)
-
1127 rods are 117mm Busa rods are 119.5mm Doing some basic calcs off the top of my head, at 0 deck itll be around 11.2:1 0.5mm below deck around 10.2:1 1mm below deck 9.7:1 Now thats not gospel, thats based on guestimates as im not a turbo guy but thats baseing it on some measurements ive got writen down from previous engines ive built. Hope this helps

Warpspeed Racing made a few sets a while ago for slingshot gsxr's. Give em a ring, mite still have a spare set kicking around
-
Depends on what compression u want to aim for, what pistons ur using etc. At 0 deck height, with 12:1 pistons and my head combo i was at 14.2:1 compression. With my new head it went up to around 15.5 so i have to reduce my deck height to get the compression back down a bit
-
Im running 1052 spec carrillos in my 1127(1216) and have absolute 0 deck height with a stock base gasket installed
