  1. Address the oil burning issue; guide seals and cylinder sealing. A tight budget may not allow for new seats, the bit of pitting I see isn’t terrible. It’s a used motor you don’t know alot about so get it running inexpensively and go from there
  2. Custom pistons, to your specs, could be had from a manufacturer. The stock pistons, I believe, are cast, light and reliable for normally aspirated engines. They also have less thermal distortion than a forged piston allowing for a more snug cylinder fit. Milling the head, fly cutting the piston valve reliefs and degreeing the cams just might work.
  3. That’s a beauty. I had an ‘86 blue/white gsxr 1100, loved it. Your’s all stock and with original exhaust?
  4. Nicely done, I had a 1979 GS 1000 with ATP turbo set up really liked it. Seven pounds of boost was friendly but pretty strong, on boost 3rd gear wheelies. Smiles
  5. Yoshimura does make good stuff, their cams make good power and don’t punish the valvetrain. Reasonable power band for street or road course. Are you going to use fuel? In the U.S. the highest pump gas commonly available is 93 octane and most of the guys street racing won’t go over 12.5:1 on a big bore motor with the 93 octane
  6. Just curious, what’s not to like about the vm32’s ?
  7. The Star exhaust with the collector in front of the engine does look trick but it’s prolly going to be easy to touch down the back half on spirited right handers
  8. I’m a big fan of the round slide CR Special Carbs, very well designed and built. The 31’s will certainly give you good response. But I have seen up to 37 mm CR’s on those heads.
  9. I like the setup I like the turbo behind the head configuration. Looks great, bet it runs good too. I had a ‘79 GS1000 ATP street bike, lots of fun
  10. I had a 1979 Suzuki GS1000E with a ATP turbo kit butterfly Bendix draw thru carb. Soft power on the bottom but when it came on boost hold on it was covering ground. Seven pounds of boost and premium pump gas, pretty strong street bike.
