For oil cooled GSXR - it is not an issue! GSXR's have more oil pressure than they know what to do

That clears it up for me, I wasn't sure if the mk1 b12s were more oil or air cooled.

On another loosely oil related note, should I use an oil pressure gauge off my oil feed line to the turbo to gauge whether or not I need a restrictor? its for a td04. I saw someone said to measure the amount of oil going to it, but I'm confused if its the oil volume or pressure that I should be checking. Thanks

  2. Hi, I decided to use APE HD head studs and nuts in my turbo build, but the other day on a turbo bike FB group I saw someone mention that a top end oiling kit would be necessary as the HD studs would restrict oil flow through the studs. is this true? Are there any other ways around it? thanks.

I have run Busa pistons in my supercharged GSX on 0.05mm piston to bore clearance with E85 fuel.

That number sounds about right, are you sure its not 005 inches? 5 thou mm seems extremely small

Edit: read it wrong, that's gotta be correct. Thanks!

  4. How do these dogs look? they catch a little when sliding them together by hand, if these are a little too worn im just going to buy a used gearbox with less miles instead if just replacing the really worn parts on mine. Thanks.20201226_214724.thumb.jpg.18dca973f5bad664373300846b73a01c.jpg

Possibly just a seller's mistake. Inventory errors etc.

Message them back politely. Most sellers want to keep their ratings and sort out issues before Eblag and PayPal get involved...

Thats my plan, Eblag money-back says if they don't respond or resolve the issue in 3 business days to contact them.

  6. Hi, I just finished splitting my cases to replace some gears. I had bought a gearbox out of a 2000 1200S, but it's completely different than mine. In fact it looks to be a 6 speed.

    Here's what mine looks like:

Here's what the one I purchased looks like:

Here's the bike it came out of:

Did the 2000 model come with such a gearbox? suzukipartshouse diagram shows it with the same as mine. Is there a way to convert mine to a 6 speed? Is the Eblag seller a liar? totally confused here. Thanks for any input.

  7. Hi, I've been busy pricing out everything I need for my turbo project, buying a plenum, fabricating headers, ect. On Amazon I found an AEM "tru-boost" controller solenoid, which electronically keeps the wastegate shit until boost pressure is reached, making the turbo spool faster without leaking boost through the wastegate. (You all probably know this, just typing it out).

I was curious if anyone has experience running something like this, and can comment on how  it would affect rideability. My concern is having too dramatic of a spool-up, biting me in the ass in corners or street riding.

Looking forward to peoples opinions on this, thanks.

  8. Hi, today by mk1 Busa pistons arrived for my turbo bandit project. After unboxing them I noticed there's some very noticeable damage on the sideskirts, seemingly cause by someone with a screwdriver. I can definitely feel them.

Would this be an issue, or is it alright to install these in a new bore? (Keeping the rings it came with if they're in spec, only 10k miles)

    Thanks.

  9. Hi, I'm planning on turbocharging my 99 b12 to around 180 hp. I'll be using gen 1 Hayabusa pistons in a blow through setup with a Td04 off a wrx, and I'd be using stock ignition.

I'll be splitting the cases to replace a few gears, and was curious if it was necessary to replace the crankshaft shells since the motor is approaching 70k miles. I'm also unsure if I should install APE studs, or if I wouldn't be making enough power to need that; I find conflicting info on here. I'm already installing an APE cam chain and tensioner.

Thanks for any input, and my apologies if this has been asked too many times, I spent a good 4 hours in bed reading the forced induction and member builds forums instead of sleeping but I can't remember finding what I was looking for.

    Thanks
