Yes, the ones that rap round the cylinders
I will keep my eye open for some.
Don't worry, @TonyGee
you're not the only Dyslexic here
that's why some of my post don't make sense
lol, so between us we might be able to make sense !!!!!

as bin said, if you have the CDI and pulse coils then it'll work, but you might have to change/modify connections to the geny and other bits.
-
ive just reread your first post wraith (im dyslexic), you mean the two bits that wrap around the cylinders ? they are for crash protection as they can be hidden behind a fairing, but they are quite stiff so they will help to keep the frame ridged. theirs nowt stopping you leaving them off but it might not help the handling !!!!

do you mean the two frame rails that cradle under the engine ? if so suzuki fitted them for a reason to give the frame strength. without them it will flex and their will be only the two engine mounts at the rear.

dont worry wraith, people mocked and laughed at the elephant man but he was a nice guy underneath

although to be fair, they dont have poor oil pressure, they have low oil pressure, but they only have that because thats all they need, i think time has proven that the low oil pressure isnt really a reliability issue.
poor stator output on gsx's is a bit of an urban myth, the problems with reliability of the charging system were due to the design of the charging circuit using a phase that was switched by the headlight. bikes run with the lights always on had fewer charging problems because all three phases were working the same, and bikes with the reg rec wired directly to all three alt phases were equally untroubled.. the loom was the problem, not the stator, clutches suffered because these engines took so much abuse that eventually something had to give. starter motors, well, theyre a consumable, you might as well say spark plugs werent great..... ;-)agree John,
yeah one of the things i did on the 750 was sort out the bodged wiring and do away with the light loop, its still running an original oem R/R and it still charges perfect (for now) the old motors where over engineered which makes them last, the engine in mine is so quiet for a 40 year old not like my 1200 bandit engine.

I always thought slabbies had RWU forks
they do, but someone asked the question about USD's

USD stanchions can be a rite bitch to remove, the grub screw normally seizes in but if you get that out unscrewing the stanchion is really tight. i did one of my legs a few months ago, will not do it again unless i have all the right gear, much easier getting a shop to do it.

looking down the bore of the carbs are all the throttle butterflies fully closed ? if so it could be an air leak.

if i go for an 1100 AC engine it would be left standard, im not bothered about having a 130 bhp im happy with an engine that has lots of torque and low down grunt
-
the carb spacing is different on mk2's compared to mk1's . you might have problems lining them up ? but not sure if you can find rubbers to match.

i like engines with a roller bearing crank. yeah i know they can twist but but a pretty strong bottom end.
-
also double check the chain alignment is ok.

I bought a 1100efe motor recently for £650, though that wasn't too expensive as I have seen cranks for sale at £500. I know someone who got a gs1000 motor recently for less than 1/2 that. There are still bargains out there there just not that easy to find.
gona have to sell some of the kids and start saving up for one

yeah, but you could buy 2 oilcooled engine for the cost of an efe engine and thats if you can find one.
can't say ive ever seen one of them for sale ????

on a similar vain i put a 1200 bandit engine into a Z1100 shaft frame, i know the engine is smaller than a GS1000 but as bin said loads of room for a wide swingarm and plenty of room for the chain.

im guessing your not going to use a fairing ? why not make some and make a feature out of em ? as they will be on show.![;) ;)](https://oldskoolsuzuki.info/forums/uploads/monthly_2015_05/wink.png.2eec1a72c3be452ce1e041e23b233254.png)
