  1. i think a 125 duke headlight would be spot on , but I've a sneaky suspicion they will be expensive and rare
  2. opinions always welcome mate, i don't always act on them, but they are appreciated, food for thought
  3. couldn't resist trying the tank panels on for a look, get better pics outside soon , hopefully this gives a better line with the numberboard, flat mounted looked pish ?
  4. combination of the spindle from.... a box in the shed, K4 wheel and dyoocati forks left me with something akin to BMX stunt pegs , add a bit of nylon and we have spindle sliders
  5. battery arrived , no battery strap yet, not put acid in yet either .... weird how some words evoke other thoughts , battery , like sanitarium, very often arrive in my head voiced by James Hetfield number plate lights on too and proper bolts for tail light .... and fuel lines started, got interrupted , finish them later oh.. filled rad up , knew i'd done something else ( ooohhhh coolant on OSS... heresy i tell you )
  6. doing some work at the rear ... ooh err mrs , number plate hanger on, tail light, indicators, reg/rec , it would have the number plate light on too... but it refused to feckin work, so it now resides in the bin and we wait for a new one, I'll paint the brackets once its fitted
  7. i binned the pingel, just had a pipe coming out of the tank, used an inline ball valve, cost about a fiver
  8. top hat spacer turned up for the plate mount , will need another point of contact to stop it rotating nice little tail light ready for some form of bracketry , l'll get the bits n bobs for that sorted out do it at weekend
  9. number plate hanger has a little more done to it, still needs work, but I want the light here first . Indicators are on, wires have a nice wee gromet to stop chafing throttle bodies are on and connected, switchgear is on , list is getting shorter
  10. i put them in as it heated up (took about an hour), once it reached 50 degrees i set the timer for 30 min, then i jammed the linkage open to expose the edge of the butterflies and put them back in for another ten minutes, temp ended up at 65 degrees . The cleaning fluid was a 10 - 1 mix and temp range between 50 and 80 deg
  11. ultrasonically cleaned my carbs today, thankfully my mates shop has a 30l tank , some diff
  12. started turning a couple of ends for the mid engine mount bolt, they are at present a bit on the rough side, but not as bad as the camera appears to make them look then went and picked up my ram air socks, and as luck would have it , they stretch over the bellmouths
  13. tank plastics wrapped, just need the lock down loosened enough to let me get to them, polis been fining people on the M8
  14. clevis thing altered, blasted and painted brake pedal assembly assembled
  15. wheel threw back in with the new bits , no point in pic, just looks the same then spend a couple of hours trying to get brake pedal in the right place, eventually did , but the clevis thingy was fully unscrewed, so that needs a bit of altering tomorrow . The clevis pins were just bought, £4 for two, not worth the effort
  16. more butchery of M16 nuts, had to tighten the oil filter post , but it has no tightenuppers, Soooooooo, turn the M16 nuts into M20 x 1 half nuts and off we go
  17. needed a 24mm allen key to tighten up the front spindle, but I appear not to have one , no mind... i have a welder and as luck would have it, M16 bolts and nuts have 24mm hex spindle tightened
  18. graphics are printed, 3 diff sizes, best fit gets fitted, once they have de-gassed
  19. you might get lucky and be able to space the calipers to suit, as long as discs are the same dia, perhaps mix of spacing discs and calipers? I just make yokes to suit
  20. yamarhar XJ had / have multi spoke wheels that look like R1 wheels, but the rear is skinnier , sure I have one somewhere

  22. having a clear out, don't suppose any of you gents more versed with the inside of oil boilers know how to identify which in particular this generator gear comes from ?
