In theory a silver engine should be cooler than a black one but in reality never found its made much difference

Hi bud welcome to OSS

Only ever seen it done on big bore GS.
Think it may have been done on period race Gsxr slabs.
Can't remember if it was mentioned in the official hop up Suzuki manual.
May be worth a look online for a copy of that as it had other good info on tuning 750 slabs

That doesn’t sound very ‘budget’
Finding a good unworn set of vm29s is not a budget option lol

A popular thing in the past was to bore the vm29 out to 33mm.
Seen them used on some very trick gs thous

Bit left field but is the rev counter accurate?

EFE look the best of that type of peg arrangement

Also think you would regret it if you had sold it.
I regret selling almost all of the bikes I have sold.

Seen this a lot and never seems to be a problem.
Most have pulled head off for some other reason and found to be cracked.

Yes the rear wheel will go in the standard GS swing arm, I had a 160 rear tyre on the I had and had to take off the wheel hub to get the wheel in and out but the way it all bolts together it's not a problem the vx800 wheel goes straight on the GS hub. I used the spacer, rear caliper hanger etc from the vx on the GS.
As to the front end, I've not fitted one but can't see to many problems. The things to look out for will be, the forks maybe shorter and softer than the GS ones. The lock stops will need sorting and brackets for clocks.
Certainly remember it like that.
Always liked the stance of it

May be worth looking in the vault as I'm sure I have seen one

A couple of braided lines definitely an improvement looks wise

Can you space the tank up slightly?
-
Vx will probably work with a stem swap and new bearings especially if using whole front end.
Wraith will be along soon and let you know what he did with his rear.
Definitely the guru for shafties
