  1. As I seem to have accumulated quite a lot of spares for the yoshi gs1000 I already race I decided to build a whole spare bike although harris originally braced the frame gs1000 version 1 I have replicated the bracing on this frame can never have too many projects on the go !
  2. No I am going to experiment with both and see how I get on the other one has long slots but is still about 25mm longer might work better at spa may be
  3. As the swingarm with the original braced frame was built and at the tt classic it’s mad the wheel base a bit too long I have got a friend of over in Germany who has modded a slingshot arm with the slabby shock rocker mount
  4. Hi yes it’s on the ignitech receipt you left at mine I will get it off tonight cheers
  5. Ok I will bing in the post shall I send to the workshop
  6. Hi Duncan it sounds good and quite loud the carbs pick up pretty quickly I am going to drop over to rays and get him to run it up on the dyno they are its so light doesn't feel like its got anything in it ! if you could it will help I have a funny feeling the anderson socket is in its bag on my bench should I post it to you
  7. Oops I don’t know what I was thinking you definitely cannot have enough spare engines fired up big Bertha yesterday I am amazed by that battery
  8. the new fairing look good Duncan but you have only showed a couple of engines what all the other ones you have dotted around
  9. Cheers it has taken me a lot longer than I expected too many projects on the go
  10. But you could say that about the rider too (certainly in my case) and the slingshot swap is very easy lot more work matching bearings spindles spacers etc with modern wheels
  11. ive fitted a 4.5 to my slabby 750 race bike plan is to take that to Cartagena in march for some practice so I will update then personally I wouldn't put anything bigger on 750 engine gsxr it will make it very slow for angle changes and the steering angles etc is pretty old fashioned on slabbys and 160 fits nicely
  12. Hi forgot you wanted more details it’s not too bad to fit swap inner bearings will get spindle to the correct size for standard s/arm you don’t have to machine the sprocket carrier but I did need to nick a bit off the inner bearing spacer to sprocket carrier bearing I am using a 530 chain ray debben sells front off set sprocket and in it goes, I used a captive spacer on the sprocket side also gets around using original giant bearing
  13. This is titanium engine bolts a friend machined for its t5 grade and very hard sam made up the double thickness engine plates and I turned new spacer to hopefully tighten up the engine mount
  14. Some pictures of 750 when I first bought it from a chap in London basically it was a collection of parts loosely bolted together but he did give me some spares as always it had taken much longer than I expected the spondon yoshi tank will hopefully allow me to get behind the fairing a bit more as I seem to have gained some weight over Christmas!
  15. yes come and say hello our club usually on the concrete area near eau rouge and the tunnel into the track made it to schleiz and oscherleben this year as well this piccy is schleiz dreieck which is part road part track and really good fun they had the european ducati cup same weekend first corner and 45 old superbikes trying to fit, bit crowded
  16. thanks very kind I always thought the red and white ones were faster but I am prepared to try blue and white to see if it helps my lap times go a bit quicker !
  17. Hi I did try and post it in the race section now I understand why I couldn't thought I was mucking something up yes happy to shift it into the race section if you don't mind katanamangler
  18. Thanks Kurf should be ready for the season this year so will go around Europe with the CSBK I always try to race at spa at the classic end of june usually race this Yoshi gs1000 but I have moved out of the vintage class this year
  19. And some more close up piccys of big Bertha I wanted one genuine bit of yoshi so a friend in japan managed to get a set of yoshi tmr mjn carbs for me duncan on here fabricated the battery holder and fairing mount and lots of other jobs when the whole thing stalled last year
  21. This is some detailed pictures of the 750 although the engine is slightly larger and I rebuilt it with the usual new part shell cam chain some of valves and Ray debben tidy up the ports a bit the front and back wheels are slingshot but I didn’t want to put too bigger a tyres as makes it harder to roll into corners so 4.50 rim on the back the chain adjusters also incorporate a gp lifter for the paddock stand and Sam Baker has the cad drawing now to make these
  22. And here are some piccy of the frame of 1216 the frame was a originally braced by Colin at TPE some time ago when that bike was entered at the classic tt
  23. It is 5.5 I think a 6” rim is too wide and makes the bike too slow to change direct and the rubber about now is so good
  24. Cheers I do nick a bit from Hans in cloggie land one of his bikes
  25. Hi your right i did fire up the bmw 02 last year but .... a friend of mine working a Landy workshop hopefully he will help ! I will post some piccy when that frame race at the tt
