I think there's an oil pump from a GSX750 (plain bearing) what is about 5mm wider then the GS750 oil pump what fits the GS750.
There are 10mm wide pumps, and 15mm wide pump, the 15mm wide ones do fit.
But I don't know what goes/comes from where.

Weld the crank? Hmm, when it was a 1000cc then defenitly, but I wouldn't be surprised if you just get away with it with a 750.
I think you get about the power output of a 1000. But when in doubt I would do it.
You probably need forged pistons.
When you use a ball bearing turbo you might be lucky with the oil delivery.

Does the oil gets pumped through the cooler when connected to that cover?

Big bore and higher CR is nice! But before you do anything, make sure you've got a good exhaust!
Don't get high performance cams on stock CR, it will make your bike slower.
My advice, go for a big bore and higher CR, after that you can choose different cams.
Hopefully someone can correct me, or add more information.

Don't pin me on this, but I think the MY has also to do wit it.
For some years the 750 is wider than the 1100, difference between roller bearing and plain bearing.

Suzuki quote the power output of a stock 1100 EFE engine as higher than that of an 1100 slabside or 1200 Blandit so it's not always about max hp numbers. The power delivery of the aircooled lump is 'intoxicating' , especially the mid-range. Try finding a good one though or even a knackered one now without having to buy a whole bike.
Indeed, it's not always about high hp numbers...

Thanks guys, I was pretty wrong then

GS1000 has 17" rear wheel, GS1000S has 18".
The Dutch importer said mine is a 1979 E, that's 18" I think

it's not just the rim size but also the tyre size that matters.
GS1000 has 130/90-17 rear wheel IIRC, let's assume you now have a 180/55-17 in it.
90%*130 = 117mm
55%*180 = 99mm
so there you have it. New tyre has an 18mm smaller radius.
I'm aware of that, but I thought that the tyre I have on was higher as the stock GS tyre, for some reason I thought that the GS had a 18" rear wheel..

Gents,
Not a problem, just curious.
About 13 years ago I modified my GS1000, I put other wheels in it, both 17", and I think I kept the stock gear ratio, but after rebuild it felt like it had more like a close ratio gear box, and the top speeds throughout the gears were lower. Rides pretty nice, but now with the big bore I always want to shift another gear up
I just assumed I had put a smaller rear wheel in it, and that caused it.
But I looked up some specs from the GS1000, and that said the stock rear wheel size is 17", if that's correct then my bike should have the same properties as before the modifications.
I did have an old Marshall exhaust on it before, not the trumpet, but the one with a 7cm diameter can, sounded VERY nice, raw, bike went like a rocket on it.
But that exhaust was unfortunally rusted through and couldn't find a similar one, so I put a Marving Racing on it, not exactly a high performance exhaust.
An exhaust can't give the feeling of a close ratio gearbox, can it?
Does anyone know the stock sprocket size from the GS1000?
Thanks

With stock studs you don't need modification, with bigger studs you can drill up the holes in the cylinder block and partly the head.

Reinhoud there is link to a uk distributor so thats a possibility I suspect having some made will be expense though. Isleoman I did think of getting a whole wiseco kit its about £600 sterling plus the rebore. Not had engineering work done before so not sure who I would trust down here in south wales to do it but thats a backstop option for me as moneys a bit tight. Johnr sorry to hear of your big bang , just how many spare Kat bits do you have? You must have a hell of a big shed. My Yoshi cylinders are for 74mm bores the same as Wiseco 74mm pistons I assume so thinking I could use Wiseco Pistons in the Yoshi block as its pretty round according to my measurements. Thinking I could get away with a DIY hone. Kiwi I will measure the Yoshi rings and compare them to the details in the Eblag add good spot, might be lucky. Ideally would like to keep the Yoshi pistons if possible they have little PopY markings embossed on them but thats the problem with old non standard performance parts, cant get the service parts. . Thanks for all the suggestions to help keep the old girl on the road.

Nah, it was the normal price to have them made..

Ask the company who imports Suzuki to the US, they should be able to tell you all the details, just send the Engine/VIN number

You have an engine, the motor starts the engine..

Are they also in the UK?
They didn't want to sell to me, I had to get them from Total seal Australia. Those Yanks don't like to sell to foreigners I notice quite often..

Ah,
Is there a documented Frankenstein big bore option for gs1000 for , let’s say, 1150cc +?
The point is, you can use ‘Busa pistons to make a cheap 1216 on an oil cooled so is there a production bike piston that has 18mm wrist pins and will give 1150cc+ (N/A) on a gs1000, (I know it’ll need new liners )
I've got 78.25mm in my GS1000, that's 1245cc, and that is about the biggest you can go.
For these barrels to fit in the crank case, material needs to be removed.
No rocket science, but you have to be carefull at a few points not to take away too much.

Sooooooooooo,
My internal waste gate is set too 16psi but it doesn't stay there long! It will just keep going up and up. I have an IHI vf hybrid and i've read this is a common-ish problem. Anyone else had an issue and what was a resolve? Im assuming an external waste gate will be best? I do have a bit of a fitment issue as the WG actuator arm sits pretty much in my oil filter and has twice stabbed a hole in it in 1500 miles!I'm more curious, where can you go flat out for that long?

Vf20 will be too big for a 400 twin
You reckon? It's pretty small, the exhaust turbine is small.
What kind of car would have a smaller?
-
The VF20 is a pretty small (ball bearing) turbo, primairy turbo from a Subaru Leagacy.

Hmm, 3 broken alternators seem to be unlikely.
All plugs free of corosion?
I would make another wiring loom..

You never get pressure with a GS engine!! Only when the engine is cold, I experimented with that.
I've got a GS1000, with a wider pump, and I had an even wider home made pump and with 750 gear ratio, restriction in the oil gallery to the gearbox, and still no pressure, it did raise the pressure when cold, but that dropped when the engine warmed up.
